@@MissMcD Can't think of any national celebs but our local 'celebs' definitely rocked this. But in Detroit, late 80s, YASSS this was MY style. I was FRESH! 😂 We could only get hair up to 12" (there was no 14, 16, 18, 20+ lengths back then). The technique was different then also. I wish I could load my old pictures to show you. 😂😂
I am ashamed to report a massive fail when I attempted a similar look a client of mine showed me a picture of. Me, like a dummy, didn't really study the look and gave her a plain ponytail which obviously DID NOT give her this look. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Maybe my client will give me a chance to redeem myself.

I am binge watching your videos like is a movie, I’ve wanted to start taking clients for the longest but I’ve been to scared to put myself out there in fear of mistakes. the way you teach is amazing, you explain everything with so much patience and you leave nothing out. The way u explain things and how u work makes EVERYTHING seems easy or at least doable. This is definitely gonna be next on my to "try" list. Stay tuned. Lol. So glad my daughter lets me try styles on her. I have some "cheap" hair that I was trying to figure out what I could do with it and knew it would probably be a ponytail. Perfect timing.

Chile you have taught me something you hear. My daughter asked if I knew how to do this hairstyle. I did in high school 😂 Now I have an updated technique.

Your technique is actually old skool weave and I love it 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 you ne doing the glue technique to PERFECTION. The connected cornrows for the weaves. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 the shit don't look crazy as hell. You can lift your hair up with your hand and won't see the braids OR the tracks from the weaves either 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

That’s really a secondary concern because her hair is so broken and thin! Just an observation, in no way am I trying to shame anyone because we’ve all experienced hair mishaps and had to wait for it to grow back. To me it looks obvious she’s been doing a lot of high-tension styles back to back. If it were me, I’d do glueless wigs for a while and keep my hair cornrowed underneath just to give the hair a break. If I were her stylist, I would’ve politely declined to do this (yet another high stress/tension style) and tried to get her to focus on returning the hair to a healthy state.
BEAUTIFUL! As all of your work appears to be. I wish I knew back in the day to start at the top of the ball then work your way down. I hated redoing my ponytail 3-4 times. I've learned a lot from the 3 videos I watched so far, makes me wana try wearing track weave again. Thnk you Meeka, your hairstyles are Real Life!!!
I have natural hair, n I do not wear weaves but.....I have no edges....want to be creative about making me some for a fuller look....you havee given me a few good ideas about products that may can make that happen ....you know DIY stuff......thank you so much for sharing your vids....enjoyed this one a lot....learned a lot as well.....good stuff
