I've been selling cars in the chicagoland area for a 2 years now. I started watching your videos in October of 2022 and applying the knowledge I learned and it has been a success! Most cars/trucks have had crumple zones for two decades now. An informed customer won't be particularly impressed because they know it's a standard design feature on practically all newer vehicles. Andy also tries to pass off the CHMSL as something unique/extra in this video. Everyone knows those are required by law, and every vehicle has one. I can't speak for everyone, but as a customer, I want the salesperson to wow me with product knowledge, tell me something I didn't already know about the vehicle and how it's better than competing vehicles. Generic fluff doesn't impress me. If I know more about the vehicle that you're trying to sell me, than the salesperson does, then what do I need the services of a salesperson for?

When somebody tells me about the car being crushed (crumpled zone) in an accident that puts a negative picture in my head of damaged cars, bleeding and dead people, lawyers and courts. It is a buzz kill. I would be too depressed to buy a car.

But those "little niches" are no not crumple zones. The crumple zones are built into the frame. I'm amazed and WOWed by the nonsense that comes out of the mouths of salesmen.

Although I appreciate the energy and passion showcased in this sales training, I can’t help but find the delivery to be somewhat patronizing. The overt push for agreement, coupled with an overbearing ‘salesy’ vibe, seems less about genuine engagement and more about leading the audience down a pre-determined path. While this might resonate with some, for me as a buyer, it lacks authenticity and seems more manipulative than inspiring. Is there anyone else who shares this perspective?

Yeah I agree. I don't like being led around like that in a patronizing way. But I definitely get the point he's making. He's being a little over the top with it. You can do this and tone it down a little bit and be less patronizing and it would be more realistic and very good presentation. Most customers are probably very sheepish and enjoy the high energy and just doing what they're told so they don't have to do much thinking.

to a point. But to be fair, the person asking the questions is the person controlling the conversation. People do all the legwork before they come to the dealership. They want someone to control the situation and make them feel comfortable with what they are buying. People don't go out looking for cars if they don't want to buy a car. It's also pretty easy to tailor the way you communicate to each person you deal with, that comes with experience.

I agree this demonstration is over the top but if you take the ideology of what he’s saying and bring energy, Make people touch/learn about the little things, and build value in the product then people will feel better about buying. People forget everything you say but they never forget how you make them FEEL. Just take what Andy says and make it your own however you see fit. It’s dramatic for educational purposes

I love this type of salesman. He invests so much in the sell that it’s hard for him to see me, the customer, walk away without negotiating. Salesman that don’t put in effort let you walk and never call you again.

I never believed in buying cars off the lot, I’ve always owned my vehicles out right. Then I bought my first car last year, a 2014 Chevrolet SS. And it was actually a very fun experience. Buying a car off the lot should be a fun and exciting experience. It was for me! An experience I’ll never forget as I flew out of state to buy it. Make the experience fun for the consumer it’s a big step in life to buy a nice car.

This cannot be stated enough. The excitement is great. It's contagious. But if the customer only feels like they're being "sold" something and not heard regarding their wants and needs then this whole walk around is for nothing. Andy knows this, Pros know this, but this comment is for the pea who is 2 months in and is still waiting for the be-back bus to come rolling in so they can finally close some pounders.

Good lord, this guy is pure energy. This is an effective approach for some, but not for all. The rhetorical questions are useless, a waste of time. "do you want the engine revving loud while you're towing?" is less effective than asking what he's towing then going into real reference of what he should expect. Friend of mine who bought this same version last week reached out to me and said it was so quiet, he forget he was towing anything!" Safe to assume the driver doesn't want the engine to blow if he's towing something heavy. The main problem with his sales tactics is it doesn't consider how buyers are motivated differently. Jumping between engine performance and safety is a waste of time. With a fully loaded truck package, I'm doubling down on performance and bringing up safety if he/she is curious about safety. Most buyers who are buying a fully loaded truck is looking to have the baddest, highest performing truck on the road. They don't care if the frame is designed to collapse the engine in an accident. I'm talking about torque, how easily customizable it is, etc because truck buyers want control, dominance, power.

As someone who just purchased a 2023 Toyota, I was amazed how many lazy salesmen and ladies that had so little knowledge of their product. These cars are so much more advanced than cars even 10 years ago and most salesmen are clueless. Andy is doing a great job highlighting the cars features. That's how you sell, knowing your product. Sometimes this can make a difference in making the deal or getting a "I'm going to think about it"

I understand that some people may feel this is aggressive or over the top.. but when you’re that customer with him in person, that energy is actually magnetic. It’s difficult to experience that through a phone. His effort and energy to help you experience the car while subconsciously getting you to agree with him over and over will get most of you sold.

whether you like him or hate him, he is onto something. its not about the product or ethics of care sales etc. its really about how to perform at your personal best and how this creates an intrinsic drive to get even better. all things considered, some of his stuff is a bit too cheesy for my personal liking, but in contrast, i had so many dreadful sales people, its definitely more enjoyable to have a guy like that around.

Soo many people missed the entire point if this demonstration, 😢 he's loud so we can here him through the camera, he over-speaks because he's giving as many examples as possible. We're just supposed to pick a few. This man is literally giving away gold for free and people only looked for flaws. I would love meet this dude.

This guy is intense, selling is about letting people have the experience not trying to control them and their decisions. Someone who has researched prior to a purchase will not be inhaling this nonsense and frankly would go somewhere else.

Its good feature selling. Slight sweak. Prabably need to match the energy more of the custoner. Have moments where you get into the customer energy. The customer was relaxed and calm. Maybe be in that mode for a bit. But, i think his sales tactics are pretty good. Liked it

Pretty solid Andy reminds me of my enthusiasm when I first started selling Mitsubishi, I used alot of the same it's not about product knowledge or the brand but all in the touch and feel. Your eyes dude are demanding a deal and you can hear it in his voice. ahem btw do you know why Mitsubishi has 3 diamonds as it's logo ? Well it actually represents it's three core businesses .... Omg, I love this. I want to learn to sell cars. However, I am nervous because I have never sold a car in my life. I just want to sell cars because I love competitiveness. I also want to earn as much as possible. I want a crazy amount of income. Not sure how to approach an interview with no experience and a bachelor's in Education.Teachers get paid crap and I have a family to feed.
