tara v You may probably need to improve one of these: Your drag, your pop, or your jump. First of all, you pop the board to the ground and at the same time, your remove your leg from that pop. So you just pop and remove your leg. While you're doing this, you want to do a powerful drag so that the nose of your board gets balanced in height with your tail. Now while you remove your leg from that pop and drag powerfully, you would do an ollie!
okay I am gonna get a fresh set of trucks and assemble my skateboard and gt back at this. Now. I'm 33 and I have not done this since my late teens. So wish me luck!
Shit yeah man! I just turn 51 bought a krooked with tracker 126s & 53 spitfires. Warming back up for 80. I grew up on a G&S fiber flexi, Bennett trucks and Roadrider 2's. Skating never dies.
I vividly remember watching this when I was like 11 or something just for fun didn’t even own a board at the time, had to come back to refresh my memory
This tutorial has some key points that Mike actually tells you while other tutorials and explanations don't. The momentum move helps out a lot actually. Great video!!
You are amazing. All Ollie tutorials are just like "pop then slide" and I just couldn't get it. You said the same thing but I have never heard anyone mention the bending the knees thing or the using your toe to pop. Before I watched this video I couldn't get off the ground at all, and I was in a crack. But after using those tips I can now get about one inch off the ground not in a crack. That may not seem like much but I literally just got my skateboard and going from nothing in a crack to an inch off the ground not in a crack within the time of watching this video,is awesome.
yo I remember watching this on demand back in highschool. You guys should upload the part where the kids are interviewing him, that was wholesome stuff!
another tip is as you pop your board and drag your foot bring your knees to your chest as you shift your weight then let your legs down as fast as you can while your going down
Yes. Keep your front foot in the middle and just stomp on the tail with your back foot. And move both feet forward quickly in the air to land properly. I was doing a couple of decent ollies tonight with those tips.
If you have problems with popping the tail off the ground just know these 3 things: the tail, ground, & your back foot should never touch only the tail & ground touches. My problem is flicking, I've got the jump & pop down.
This tutorial is great and helpful. I tried to do an ollie, but either my nose part went flying up and my tail was at the ground, or i just ollied about 1cm above and then my back wheels slammed the ground... Can someone pls give me a guide?
Help! Every time I try to ollie on concrete stopped or moving my front foot always lands so close to my back foot that I do some sort of manual fall and fall on to my back. I've tried in grass but I'm having trouble sliding my front foot forward. It feels like if I do I will land and break my ankle. Any help would be great! Thank You!!
I've got the carpeting down but when I'm on the side walk or street I just can't get my foot to slide like it forces me not to and a just keep my foot strait and slide up and is it normal for your feet to hurt when you kept doing it cuz they hurt a lot when I stopped moving the board.
Probably because you're not coming up and shifting your weight to the front. Watch this video as you try. My 14 y/o brother just got his first skateboard today and we watched this video and studied it and he's done a few decent ones. Good luck man!
+Vazzox FX I don't think Nike is a good brand for skateboarding. They are nice but they don't last long, they are overpriced, and their shoes aren't too good while riding. But they do make excellent running shoes.
Ward Mosili I jumped, sucked both of my knees up after popping then my board ended up flying, and sometimes instead of popping, the tail is sliding lol... any help?
Me and my friend tried this and the board flew out from underneath us and we both fell really hard on the concrete xD and we just sat there and laughed
