Its easier to do on hitbox, what's hard is learning the muscle memory of pressing the jump button since you can't just mimic Goldlewis' animations. Doing it is easier than stick, remembering which behemoth typhoon you want for which direction you're facing and pressing the jump button in the right order is way, way harder.
usually you want to buffer the up behemoths during other moves. but you can do them in neutral by whiffing 5P and doing the input there or you can do these inputs out of backdash or right after forward dashing but its hard.
@@Clarkbardoone Daisuke lowkey teaching tech in the trailer that wouldn't be noticed unless you labbed the character. Like how many people are gonna think "Yeah he whiffed and cancelled his jab JUST TO GET THE MOVE OUT CONSISTENTLY" without going into training mode with him
THIS. You basically HAVE to buffer the moves all the time to be consistent. I honestly think that's the way it was suppose to be used because of his heavy mixup game.
@@gp381 im actually pretty committed to Goldlewis still and have learned to do the up Behemoths consistently without buffering in neutral. however 862H and 842H i still have to buffer but thats fine since i never want them in neutral anyways. so its hard to input 684H etc Behemoths in neutral but its not impossible. you just have to do one quick smooth motion and i get it nearly every time. i do have to practice it though. also using 428H 684H 624H 842H behemoths as meaty crossup tools is pretty strong and i recommend more Goldlewis players incorporate those more.
Inputting after 5P really helps. Even if it gets blocked, you're +3. You can also bait with this, if you just throw out 5P spaced out, they'll expect a Behemoth Typhoon
in this behemoth typhoon you input 5p to buffer behemoth typhoon even if it is blocked you are still 3+ you can also bait with this if you just throw out 5p spaced out they'll expect a behemoth typhoon
FD has a frame or two that will ignore a jump input if you're fast enough, but obviously this costs you a smidgen of meter to do, and doesn't really help on the BT's that start with up.
in this behemoth typhoon you use fd because it has a frame or two that will ignore a jump input if you're fast enough, but obviously this cost you a smidgen of meter to do, and doesn't really help on the bt's that start with up edit: in this behemoth typhoon telegraph the attacks too
@@inquisitiveone2556 not necessarily, because this technique can also be used on the 21478 version of BT as well. Doesn't telegraph the attack any more than hiding the input behind a whiffed normal does imo
It does, they are possible to do grounded you just have to do the input really fast. In a practical sense though you will probably always just buffer them out of other moves.
You have 5 frames to do the whole input. The minimum is 3 frames (or 4, not sure how it works). So you only have 1 or 2 frames of leniency with the ones that start with up. I'm not sure if it's possible on stick or pad, but on hitbox you should be able to if you have insane execution.
@@welcometovalhalla2884 It's possible on stick, but not very consistent. You can do it in 3 frames if you perfectly input 8, 4/6, 2+H, but that requires some robot-level precision.
I've managed to get 47896HS grounded on pad, but I'm not consistent enough at it. When doing the input I try to prioritize hitting 7 and 9 and hitting HS when I reach around 9, then input forward. Speed is definitely a factor when doing the typhons that have upward inputs. In the case of 47896HS I'll get 3 in a row and then never get it again. Sometimes I'll do it twice and both inputs look identical and one will come out grounded and the other one won't.
You can do those starting with up without jumping but you have to be really quick, releasing the up button and ending the motion almost instantly. I succeed doing it on a pad almost consistently but on stick I can't do it very often
This was helpful as a stick player too. Thanks. I had someone tell me "you can do giefs 720 super before jump frames kick in" oh yeah cause thats soon easy to do raw lol you need to hide the inputs like said for GoldDick too.
You can do all behemoth variations including the up then down ones without jumping. It’s just so hard to be consistent with it in matches.Gobou already does it without hiding them behind buttons.
I’m playing on an old PS4 controller lol but ill have to try these. I think the forward-up-back typhoon is gonna be useful to do without jumping since that’s sort of an anti air (I’ve tried buffering it behind a whiffed jab but that doesn’t seem too good)
You can get the ones that start with 8 without jumping if you input the entire move within the 5 frames of pre jump iirc. It’s really hard to do though.
Can you do the 4-8-6 and 6-8-4 typhoons like Hugo's tachi Gigas in 3rd Strike? For the 4-8-6 typhoon, if you start at forward and do a 350 clockwise (ending back at forward), can you get the typhoon without jumping if you just "spin the stick really fast"?
From what I've read about the behemoth typhoons that start up, you just need to do an half circle (either clockwise or anti clockwise depending on the move) in any direction (so like 426 or 624 work) and then end with what would be the last direction of the behemoth typhoon you'd like to do (like 2 if you start up, or 6 if you start from behind and have a jump input in the middle)
You can do the up to down with out jumping its just stupid fast. You have 10-12 ms to do the U, U/B(U/F), B(F) portion of the move and 15 ms for each input afterward. I had to make a macro to find out the timings as I can not do it manually at all. 1080 DWTS can also be linked to 2HS good luck on that one as well.
I remember hearing in the tutorial video that it only matters where the motion ends, so would it be possible to 41236 then 42 for the 87412 B.Typhoon? (I haven't bought GoldDick to try that yet...)
In this behemoth typhoon, jmcrofts uses behemoth typhoon to teach you how to use behemoth typhoon so you can use behemoth typhoon in a match against another goldlewis who has also watched this behemoth typhoon video on how to behemoth typhoon against another goldlewis----
@jmcrofts The easiest way that I’ve come across and you will have to spend a few mins at a time so that you build the muscle memory on top of the mentality to maintain witch one you want is to start on 6 dash If you want to play high risk high reward games with your opp. And make a circle I use the dpad myself so I do this at least 30 times until comfortable but attack and quickly make a full circle on your pad but remember the move comes out as long as you stop in the right position and hs so for an over head witch is the hardest but least expected because it normally makes you jump. Roll in that direction and stop on 4 or 6 depending on position and it flows but practice as again it requires muscle memory and the mentally to know where you want to stop
How many frames does the pre-jump takes? I'm sure that Desk would perform all of them standing with no problem. Actually, why the hell is he not posting anything about this game?
First thing I tried and yes it does. Only problem is the taunt has a set amount of time it has to play before it can be cancelled. Taunt into level 3 super is fun though.
This!, I just won’t play him at all, his inputs seemed good in theory but are actually trash and his level 3 super is impossible I think, like legit impossible on mixbox or im just too slow
Man I play on D-pad on my Xbox controller plugged into my pc and this guy has probably taken 88 layers of skin off my thumb doing all these half circles and full circles
Not a hitbox user (I really want one), but I've been making do on keyboard and I gotta say yeah the ones with the up inputs still suck haha. Prettysure as long as you hit the cardinal directions and end on the direction of the respective move you want, it comes out. e.g. hitting left-up-right/ 4,8,6 (I still like to buffer these behind another move tho)
On hitbox no I do not have an easier time. I was actually shocked that you could do the 684 and 486 ones without buffering. I have an idea for a technique to get it now that I know it's possible. I'll try it when I get home
You need to input the move before jumpsquat ends. Idk how many frames of jumpsquat gold dick has but i can do it fairly inconsistently with xbox one dpad. This is why its so much easier when you start from below
i play on hitbox and raw 684 is still too hard for me. Gobou did raw 842 in tournament at redbull kumite without jumping but im pretty sure hes an alien or some kind of cyborg
@@SpaceFrog999 Does that mean you only have a 2 frame leniency when trying to perform these from grounded? Cuz AFAIK since the half-circles only really need the cardinal directions inputs, the fastest possible BTs are all 3 frames
@@Reydriel You need the first and last direction, you can omit 1 of the directions in-between that. Each BT would actually need 4 frames to be performed so you only have 1 frame of leniency.
@@Reydriel for the ones that start with up, yes. Very tight, hard to do consistently. The ones that end in up are much easier, and I do them standing all the time. Probably 3 or 4 frame window. The ones that go from back to front across the top are in between the two in terms of difficulty.
I watched this video because I swear I saw Gobou use the 87412 (the low) without the need of whiffing a move, for Oki. I've been using 23698 (the uppercut) on Oki because it's plus 3-5ish on block, little pushback, beats mash and backdash on wake-up, huge combo on counterhit. However, in theory the best BT to use on oki would be the (quick overhead) 89632 because it'd do everything (the uppercut) does except the combo opportunity would be null on regular hit, however in exchange for roughly plus 12 on block, and potential for fuzzy overhead. I wanted to do some labbing to see if hitting (quick overhead) meaty does what I think it would do, and maybe even reward a meter less combo opportunity, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it without a setup. I want to be able to just do it raw.
@@marvinzimmerman1878 Yeah, I mostly play Axl now because I love Axl Bomber loops. I go back to playing Goldlewis every now and then, but I still haven't been able to get raw 862/842 BTs. I just don't understand. If it's purely raw speed of input, I may never get it in this lifetime. If there's a trick, everyone's kept that chazz on the down low because I've never heard of one.
@@SnipersUpTheMex I can do raw 8x2 now! And there is a trick. And wow how the mighty have fallen, axl? 😭 next you're going to tell me you have HC as your pocket pick
To use it in neutral, don't you literally just have to whiff a fast light normal like p or k to use the up starting motions, literally just buffer it while you whiff 5p. Edit: lmao one of the top comments beat me to it.
So with Guilty Gear Strive, we already have: "Lil Bussy Man", "the Smell of the Game", "Grounded Footsies", and now "In This Behemoth Typhoon", with honorable mention to "s h o c k s t a t e". Any other memes I forgot?
Do pierce and after they block the first hit immediately cancel it into oppose, from there you have a couple options: cancel oppose into Leap to catch a jump/backdash away from oppose, bring Zato-1 in to apply pressure and let oppose rip, or just cancel oppose and call eddie back to preserve your eddie gauge, you have to make them respect your options for example you could also do drunkard shade to send eddie behind them where they cannot 2p him.
Yeah, as a pad player, I feel like this character is not meant for me. But then again, with practice and good technique anything is possible. I used to have trouble just doing the 632146 supers in GG games, but now they easy.
@@charliericker274 Yes, I was referring to the pressure on one's thumb joint - it just feels wrong after 5-6 Typhoons. Or is just that my hands aren't built for that motion on a pad.
Sounds like you need to work on your defense and reads. No offense (hey that was a pun XD). He is a slow lumbering brawler, so you need to have solid defense and good reads to beat the faster characters.
It's fairly easy due to the input requirements not being so strict. You just roll your fingers across fast as you can and you can get it. I can do it on my WASD setup as well despite it being even more difficult
@@TheChilaxicle as I said, just piano/roll your fingers for most of it. The only motion you can't roll to do it is 684 or 486. It beats doing it on a WASD like I'm doing.
Ok, but how about the ones where you go down in the middle? I can’t seem to avoid jumping when I try to do these I think I’m doing something wrong guys
@@Aripuni1 we gotta stop thinking everything is easier on hb. Only in games with shortcuts is it truly easier. GG doesn't have shortcuts, so we have to make all the dame true inputs as everyone else. The whole "cheatbox" thing is old hat.
You can do the up-motions without jumping by removing the jump button and putting it on another button. Tough i wouldn't recommand it, except if you want to main Goldlewis
