Also,the coolant that is in the Mercedes Benz bottle is actually G48 coolant. In North America its sold as Zerex G-48,also used by BMW until 2019,and older Volvos. So shop around to get the best price.

This is by far, the best video I have seen on a coolant flush,even for an older Benz..This is better than what I anticipated. One observation: You did not use any radiator cleaner...Reasons? I would assume that may save you time and efforts when mixed with distilled water!

You know the reservoir tank has a filter in it. I replaced the tank when I did this procedure in my E55. Also the engine has bolts on the sides to drain out the block

Yes you right! I should of replaced mines when I did this flush..But I’m replacing the reservoir on my next video..When I replace the power steering pump.👍🏾

Mercedes does not use any filter in the reservoir. BMW does.

I thought about this method, but it has its issues. Extremely inefficient as far as time goes & the coolant/water ratio will be off given you haven't completely drained the system/block of water after final flush. There's also potential compatibility issues w/ flush agent & the system as well as some wear & stripping of metals from running just distilled water by itself. Some of these points are negligible & you proved that it's obviously possible. Just things to consider.

U won't harm anything if you drive 20-30 miles with distilled water. It will do good since it will clean the system. But you are right about that you don't drain all the liquid inside the system, even if you drain the engine block from it's plug there still 10-15 % of old fluid inside the system,but for me is ok if you maintain on time. Also newer mb fluid which is pink in color is good for about 10 years or 150k miles

please why do my ml350 drill water too much in my coolant...especially after using the AC
@legendarycars9997
@legendarycars9997 3 дня назад
@@jamesosazee4906 Sounds like you got A leak somewhere! Check your coolant reservoir and radiator for small cracks In it..Check both radiator hoses for leaks..Worst scenario is you got A head gasket problem,that the coolant is leaking into‼️

can u pls help me ?? i did the same steps as u and my heater still blow hella cold air , this is currently my 3rd flush going on to my 4th one sometimes i think i have air in it so i squeeze the top radiator hose until i feel like it’s no more air then add water for the water that got deeper in but the car still blow cold air
@legendarycars9997
@legendarycars9997 8 месяцев назад
Most of the times..It takes 5 to ten flushes until the air turn back warm! It took mines 7 flushes before I got the heat that was needed! If that don’t work..Drive your car around 15 to 20 minutes and see if that helps! It could be possible..That your car not getting warm up In temperature..Where it’s hot enough to blow warm air through your air vents!
@King-gq5qn
@King-gq5qn 6 месяцев назад
@@legendarycars9997 Maybe don't put the cap on it so that the car can burp the air itself out?
@legendarycars9997
@legendarycars9997 6 месяцев назад
@@King-gq5qn If that don’t work..Other reason why heat not blowing out..You can have A stuck open thermostat..That need to be replaced..You can have a kink in the Heater Hose that need to be straightening out.It can be because the heat control valve needs to be replaced..It can also be that the Heater core may need to be flushed out some more..Do to it may be clogged up..If all fail..The Heater core will need to be replaced‼️

What was that part you turned and it started leaking antifreeze? My car keeps leaking antifreeze from the same spot and im not sure if its loose or broken, is it a bleed valve?
@legendarycars9997
@legendarycars9997 Год назад
That part that turn to release and drain antifreeze is called A Petcock! It might need replacing and if it continues to leak after the replacement..You might have A crack in the radiator close to that same area and need the radiator replaced!
@Zeek9731
@Zeek9731 Год назад
@@legendarycars9997 Thank you very much for your reply, I really hope its not a crack in the radiator because it will cost a small fortune 😂 it is weird because sometimes it leaks very little some days it leaks a lot
@legendarycars9997
@legendarycars9997 Год назад
@@Zeek9731 Yeah mines did the same to I change the radiator! Lol The more fluid..The more longer and harder you drive the car..The more pressure builds up in the system..The more coolant leaks out! The lower amount of coolant you have and shorter the drive distance..The less coolant it will pour out!
@c.h.r.i.s2253

NEVER drain a radiator by the petcock. You just learned why. Many times it breaks to the point where you have to replace the radiator. ALWAYS drain by removing the hose!!!!
@emmel07
@emmel07 3 месяца назад
@@c.h.r.i.s2253 makes no sense to drain by the hose when a radiator petcock is specifically made for this procedure. Even the dealerships drain by petcock during flushes. I'm almost certain the engineers that designed it didn't put it on there for decoration.

The average coolant flush is about $150 to $250.Depending on the shop..Make/model of your car and dealership you getting the work done at..But most of the time..The dealership has the highest price you would pay for any service or repair job! My thoughts..You should be looking at cost around $200 no more than $325 at Mercedes Benz dealership..Other mechanic shops..You should be looking at price range around $125 to $175

How long do you let the system bleed. I’ve had the car on for 10mins and still cold air and sometimes a few bubbles

When the pressure builds up and about to spill over..Turn off the car..That will allow the pressure in the system to go down..Give it about 5-10 minutes and turn the car back on..Repeat the process again if necessary.

From 2012 MB published 325.5 coolant sheet which is compatible with most MB engines from like 2000 to nowadays, so your mechanic is right, but before switching fluid need to remove all of the old one. Also the coolant that he put needs to be 325.5 to be compatible

The 150k mi claim is usually followed by a 5 yr claim by the actual manufacturer of the coolant. Thanks to oil in my coolant via failed oil cooler, I'm not reaching either of those milestones w/ my coolant or expansion tank 😂
