If you are new to playing in chess tournaments, then the first step required to play in a tournament in India is to register at AICF (All India Chess Federation). This video explains the AICF registration procedure in simple steps and once you watch this, you should be able to complete the registration in minutes.

After registration how we can play in offline chess tournaments and ₹250 is only for aicf registration or for entry in any tournament

After Aicf registration, you also need to register in the specific tournament to play. 250 is only for aucf registration. Different tournaments will have different entry fees.

Yes. Any document that has date of birth is sufficient.

What is the membership duration like? I registered yesterday and it shows Valid Upto 2024-03-31. so technically only 15more days. why is that so?

It is because, it is Valid till March. Every year in April you have to recharge which will end up in March next year irrespective of whenever you register.

You can crop the video to the smallest size possible (even just the head). This will reduce the file size to below 1000 kb.

@@freddy476 yes, that’s also yearly registration. Some states provide lifetime registration.

@@taranpreetsinghsethi8422 Yes definitely. No age limit. Steps:- 1. Register at AICF and note your aicf id. 2. Read the tournament brochure from aicf calendar and register for the tournament. 3. Show up on tournament date at the venue.

What if we don't renew the aicf id ? Would the id stop working or affect fide id?

It will stay. But it will show inactive. Later, when you decide to play in any tournament, only then you have to renew it.

Yes definitely. Before playing in any FIDE-rated tournament, you have register at AICF first. When you register for a tournament, you will be asked for your AICF id, which you get when you register at AICF.

You can write an email to aicf. Usually, the transaction gets credited back in 2 days.

Just play a FIDE rated tournament and you will get a FIDE Id. The arbiter will publish the new FIDE ids by 2nd or 3rd day of the tournament.

Do a player search using your FIDE id/name and get to your profile. Then click on Renew membership.
