Want to learn one of the most fun shots in pickleball? Look no further than the backhand slice dink. This shot is so much fun to pull out of the bag, but make no mistake, it's very difficult if you're not used to it!
The backhand cross-court slice, in particular, is very effective at the net because the spin can easily trick an opponent up. What looks like a cross-court dink with pace ends up stopping shot because of the backspin.

Have to learn to undo my squash feet positioning. In squash you do the crossover and stretch to be able to reach in and ‘boast’ a shot going into the back corner off the wall up and dying into the opposite bottom corner. Plus the wristy shot. So unlearning a lot to play pickle all. So these videos are great Barrett

1 funny thing was the one returning the ball kept dinking weirdly. (I know she's trying to keep it in play) Would have good to see her practice the drills back. Thanks for the vid! I'm working on backhand slice right now :)

In my opinion one of the hardest shots to learn in pickleball. Backspin shots can have a tendency to rise into your opponents put away zone. Your net looks like it needs tightening

Easy to overreach into NVZ! This can be a low percentage add.

You said in the beginning of your video that there's a time when not to do the backhand cross court dink but I don't remember you saying when that is.

Backhand cross-court dinks are fine, but slicing them is another thing. If you're rushing for the ball, don't try this. You should only try this kind of shot when you're got an easy dink. If your opponent has put a lot of pace on the dink, you can't respond this way, use another dink instead. Hopefully that makes sense!

I don’t understand all the blue on the side. Are you not on a pickle ball court as a comment it would be easier to visualize this if you were playing on a pickle ball court

What you see in this video is very, very common in the pickleball world. The sport just isn't at the point yet where you'll see dedicated courts everywhere. But please check out my most recent videos. I almost always do those on dedicated courts.
