your beginner tutorials are PERFECT. i just got a practice knife for my birthday and your tutorials have been so easy to follow that i've got a lot of basic stuff down already, thanks a ton!!
Got my first balisong a few hours ago and these videos are helping me learn tricks in only a few minutes. Love these, this will def be a new hobby of mine!
Awesome tutorial not only showing the thumb rollover and wrist pass but also showing many options to combo into from the rollover. I don't see many tutorials doing this. Keep it up!!
Finally, someone with a very informative step by step tutorial. Plus, showing the moves in slo-mo it much easier to see the knife to hand positioning for each stop. Phone. Great Job, Great Video, Great Teacher. Thaks Again!
hello im from sweden and we celebrate cristmas on the 24 of december and i gom my firt balisong today and i just want to say THANK YOU SO MUTCH for helping every one and me
The amount of times I dropped my trainer while learning the thumb rollover... But now I can do it almost every time perfectly with my right hand (and less than half the time with my left hand). Great video and thanks a lot!
This is an amazing videi, didn't think I'd be able to do it so quickly. Thought it'd take me the whole day but it was only like 20 minutes, 15 maybe. This is awesome, and that choker was extremely smooth
I only started a couple days ago, and this helps a lot, got cut a lot along the way (neglected to get a trainer, regret it) but it’s worth it in the end
Great Zeus’ Beard! I just ran into this dude at Walmart. Friggin weird. I knew he looked familiar. Native American deodorant that was the squid industries dude😅 rad.
So I practice with a live blade. I’m waiting for my trainer to come in. But a helpful tip I figured for practicing the wrist pass with a live blade is starting with the bite handle so if you mess up it still doesn’t cut you and when you’re ready give the wrist pass a try. My 2 cents if it helps anyone.
I’m about to start learning how to flip and this series is so good! Some feedback though, I think the background music is a bit much cause Jelly talks in a real good pace anyways, theres no silence to fill, perhaps in the slowmo sections only (?) + everyone loves the sound of Squid Industry knives ;) His voice + knife sounds would be pure ASMR 🫶🏻 (Or perhaps an ASMR series lol) Will get back to these vids when I get my first bali trainer in the mail !! Loving the series keep it coming!
one thing i didnt see mentioned here, and something that made this trick inconsistant from me for ages, was the starting holding position (i had it so my thumb was in the right position, but with the handle resting across the main joint in my finger, almost like a fist with the thumb on top) not allowing that little roll to turn the handle... if you look in the vid, when he flips the handle out, if you dont do the roll so your index finger moves over that gap where the blade sits when closed, itll hit the base knuckle of your thumb, instead of going more around the tip of your thumb.
i was doing it slightly different cuz i was doing it just from sight (im a beginner just started yesterday) and was so close was just holding it wrong xD
For everyone that struggles to get the Balance look where your finger are and how close you to the Top of the closed balisong. I just saw how the grip will fuck of the balance if done wrong. ( i did it for like 2 months and learned my issue rn as i write this comment)
I been trying this move for over 2yrs and only get it 25% of the time and it feels sloppy. Every other trick I make progress on but this one literally won't work. Someone help please
Yeah that’s super normal, eventually as you get better and practice more those little “mistakes” will happen less and less as your muscle memory perfects
I’m stumped on this idk if it’s because I’m left handed but the blade always ends up on the opposite side maybe I’m not swinging it far enough out or somthing but idk
For the first step it’s hitting my wrist not my thumb. I’ve tried going back and re watching it over and over again and it keeps hitting my wrist… any tips?
When you release the balisong, you want to focus on changing your grip quickly so that your thumb and index finger are on the sides of the balisong instead of the top and bottom. In this position, with your thumb sticking out, it should easily flow around your thumb.
I own one but I don’t trust myself to do ANY tricks I barely trust myself to flip it open and closed… I’m a clumsy person especially when it comes to coordination and using my hands… my hand eye coordination sucks so much even if I try
