If you are using RemNote, the T Tree method fits like a glove 🔥 - topics as Folders - titles as Documents - terms as Concepts - tables as Descriptors Thanks, M&M for the amazing videos 🙌🙌
@@KoiAcademy How would you manage multiple layers in Remnote. Multiple Folders (e.g. folders w/in folders)? Also, I think I'm getting a little confused with "terms" because I am imagining the bolded words in texts, however, it seems like "terms" for you is really more like the name of a section in a chapter (e.g. 1.1, 1.2 of CH 1).
@@supernopal To make a sub folder, you should first create parent folder and then create a child folder, then pin the child folder and open the parent folder and drag the child folder and place it in parent folder. Hope this helps!
I already use notion but i'm really interested in RemNote since i love all of Mike and Matty's stuff. I wanna keep it as simple as possible. Should i quit Notion for RemNote or use both?
Always such a fun thing to look at these videos and realize I already am doing a low tier version of these methods. I make my notes using the T-tree method.
This is so helpful I been studying so much but not realizing what i was missing but I finally realize what I'm missing now thank you for this video im so glad i found this channel
Thank you 1. The phases of learning Understand and Remembering 2. Trees I. Topic The trunk of the tree and the main Idea. II. Tittle The are what devide the individual section of the chapter III. Term The terms are the important word IV. Table Table are the detail 2. How to use it You can do it by understanding but when to come to the table you must memorize it.
such a great videos as usual. I discovered the channel 2 weeks ago, and as a law student it helps me a lot : it motivate me and teach me how to learn, study better.
I understand it has been a couple of years since you posted this video, but do you remember what book that is at time 3:59 with the table of contents? I'm a book nut and would love to check it out. Thank you and thank you for such a great video! I love this concept and I'm excited to try it out.
I made the same mistake you made when I started learning IT. I just went in for the flashcards and spaced repetition lol. ugh. It didn't help that I spent money on the JimKwik how to be a better student series. IT DOES NOT GO OVER THE PART ABOUT UNDERSTANDING. Another great book on this subject is Ultralearners.
HEYYYYY i've been trying to use REMNOTE for the longest time now i need help please , ive seen some videos but theyre kinda complicated can you make VIDEOS on how to use REMNOTE for students/ med students pleaseeeeeeeeee Med School starts in 2 weeks i want to be prepared with the best method to take notes
I did the same the 1st year. I was shocked by the tons of material and I wanted to memorize it but I failed 2 exams. I realized that understanding should be on 1st place. When you understand the topic,it's easier to memorize it and make connections with other topics. Also when you forget it,you can easilly recall it. P.S. Thanks for this video and all the best!
Correct many students who failed the purpose of active recall, and studying isn’t memorizing which many young people makes, so understanding should come first. You need to go over and over and repeat until you understood the information. I use active recall too and took a while to understand the information.
The letter T looks like a tree with its top branch the left side more down than the right and it has the trunk missing is that because shani used the trunk to throw on the coronies
great idea: Learn new information by RELATING it to prior knowledge, and organize a structure that integrate the new information and the established prior knowledge. Next, list details of this new information into tables, preferably compared to relevant aspects of the familiar knowledge.
Hi mate! I’m a Brazilian and I want to make those types of information accessible for us. I’m in medical school and I work with making subtitles too. I’m thinking of making those type of videos on my own. Giving you guys the credit when taking the info from here What do you think?
u really did some efforts but this kind of note taking that u r discussing i don't think it work on my studies i am an engineer i am looking for my data needed not all data that is there so if i am learning some new stuff that i can look up , cause taking notes would help learn faster like if i am learning about programming for something that i need like it i just can find the realated one , i didn't use u method yet but i am using something like it yeah , but i can see u can improve ur video so yeah good luck
yeah in my country majority of our exams are oral and not in test form so if you don't understand you're out within 2/3 minutes so this is pretty useful 👌
interestingly, that's ac how i take notes and it really helps me learn. By that I don't mean actually drawing out a tree, but more like outline bullet points. So you would put the topic on bullet point layer one, the titles on bullet point layer two, the terms on bullet point layer three, and the tables on bullet point number four. Of course, for each topic it varies on how many layers of bullet points you need so you just need to adjust to that. I'll give an example below: 1. Mindsets (topic): a. Fixed Mindset (title) i. Characteristics (term) 1. talents and abilities are set traits (table) 2. always trying to look "smart" 3. ..... 4. .... ii. Examples 1. .... 2. .... b. Growth Mindset i. Characteristics 1. .... ^ real example from my entrepreneurship class notebook ok you get the gist, and if under ur table u have more specific details, well, just add another layer. And if for that topic all of them are terms and you don't have tables, then don't add the fourth layer. I also have custom bullet points for each layer so now I actually find note-taking sorta fun. Hope this helps whoever need it lol
I was diagnosed with mild Asperger's Syndrome. In my case this method, in simplified terms, reflects well the way I think ( I don't know if others with the syndrome have the same)
Knowledge as a sort of semantic tree - make sure you understand the fundamental principles ie the trunks and big branches, before you get the leaves/details or there's nothing for them to hang onto. Elon Musk
hi can you please make a video about how can we connect physiology and medicine together to study a certain topic like gastro or haematology ...for people with weak basics please... ❤your videos have really helped me so much
I've been doing this with the app Notion and I know this info just now that it's called T Tree :O Very helpful guide, and it's quite effective and helpful for me!
Bhaiya i am going to start my jee Pre from today this is my strategy can you judge it for me :-- 1 take class with focus 2 make notes during class which are to the points 3 Revise the classes in 24 hours 4 after all this start doing pyqs PLSS BHAIYA IF YOU GOT SOME free time pls guide me in this🙃
I am on my journey to becoming a doctor. I'm at the phase of pre-medicine and since I stepped into college it wasn't a mistake that I found this channel on my recommended. I have seen and watched your other videos and it helped me learn my program so much fun and easier to understand. Thank you to both of you guys
It would be amazing if you guys knew (or could find and collaborate) with other innovative learners from different fields, because its one thing saying that this method is versatile for other fields, and its actually a completely different thing to just be able to guide and provide examples of how this works in obscure fields. For example for a student studying medicine, engineering or science, this is easily replicable without issues. However if we were to take me for example, a linguistics student and learner or languages, music and art, to actually attempt to try this but within these areas is more of a complicated feat than it appears. (I am not saying I do not appreciate or value this information, I am just pointing out I’d love to see this critical thinking of learning applied with examples to a wider range of subjects, especially subjects where such a self reflective method of learning is hard to find employed on the internet)
Haha yes that would be cool to meet other creators who would be interested. I’ve personally used it on multiple subjects, but that’s still just n of 1. We’ve actually built this method into the fabric of RemNote (hence the tree logo) and have seen success in our community across so many subjects
@@johnkimani6526 anyone seeing this comment by John Kimani please IGNORE IT. Please report John Kimani and look at his other comments (which are extremely similar to this one) and the fact his account isnt even several months old.
Really good and helpful content. Im studying to become a Physiotherapist in Germany. And this helped me a lot to get a good Structure in my learning Progress. Thanks for all you hard Work Guys
Hey guys. Awesome video as always. But what a brutal increase in subscriptions for you!? So happy! But literally I felt a few days ago it was just 40k or so. But that's the right direction, soon you are big and everybody can learn from you! Greetings from Hamburg
I use active recall and space repition ,buti take way too long time in only one lecture to understand it and make flash cards on it , it's mostly because I didn't plan my study sessions well and I keep getting destracted by my own thoughts but I knew there was something Missing and it looks like it's structure , I just jump in attack the power point slide by slide making flash cards and trying to understand each one inviduallt , but this is not how it works , I have to understand the general idea first and have the full image of what I'm supposed to lean and then go to the details then memorization Thank you very much .. Tough I still find the mexing startegy complecated but I'll try to understand how to apply it
I love this concept so much!!! Thank you for highlighting the importance of understanding a concept before trying to objectively remember terms and intricate details. As a premed student with upcoming exams, it's so tempting to just memorize and dump everything in my brain without even understanding it (which will be harder to retrieve later on). So yeah, thank u so much for these helpful videos! Y'all are awesome ✊🫀
Hello Good morning /Good evening or Good afternoon or Good Day, I am one of your subscriber , I always watch your video content , and it is very helpful to my study, specially the technique, guides and tips to study is very useful , stay safe and God Bless you always
Can you do a video on reading properly? With highlighting only the important stuff, because i often use to highlight way toooo much :) other than that thanks for your videos they really inspire and help me getting my best study methods all together!!
@@jasondads9509 so why do you think we get tree like structure in almost all technical book because nature is organised this way everything is a hierarchy one depends on other
@@handleh indeed, but, the mental model of the author and the way they structure things may not be the best way for us to understand the topic. Learning guides I've encountered recommend having multiple sources of information and build our own framework
How can I make a RemNote flashcard where you have to actively recall 1-2 pieces of info (one child) (for a parent - concept)… but you can still see all the other children (for context)? When I’m practicing, it only shows the parent and one child (the one I must actively recall)… but I want to be able to see all the other children.
Hi Mike & Matty, Good day, Could you kindly assist in explaining the "Concept" under the Understanding section? I have attached the snap shot for your reference from one of your videos.
Love your content. I am a practicing MD and prepping for the board recertification. The problem is that the boards require LOTS of memorization of minutiae to there are lots of "tables". There is no way around that for me; it is what it is but I hope Remnote helps me do a better job.
