How to Download / Backup WhatsApp Chats 2023 

I just wanted to say thank you for creating this extension. My aunt passed away and this was the only way I found to backup her whatsapp chats with all media included before it was gone forever. Thank you!

The idea is great, I've been looking for something like this for years. The only problem I've recognized so far is that it doesn't work in Beta version (multiple devices).

if I download the chats can I then restore them to a new phone?

Does it backup video, audio and image media too? Thumbnail images for image and videos will do but audio is important as it's part of the correspondence. I don't mind backing each chat individually as html files but can it backup the entire chats to mirror WhatsApp? I have an additional concern. Is it totally safe? As in, is there a possibility that the html file may become obsolete and I won't be able to use it in the future?
