Let's learn how to download embedded and/or private Vimeo Videos for offline use in this video. We won't need any downloader or any other tool or software, it's done through the Inspect element feature in the browser (Chrome DevTools). holy smokes, thank you so much. I was in a webinar earlier today and I recorded it only to realize that there was no audio for some reason. Luckily, the hosts of the webinar uploaded their recording of the webinar on Vimeo and I just _had_ to find a way to download it because what I learned from there was worth a lot to me. What can be done if all the steps are followed here, but when searching for 'mp4' there are 0 of 0 results?? EDIT - I found a video with a better solution for me. Open dev tools in chrome, click on Source. Refresh page. Look down the panel with the folders in Source. You're looking for a folder with only numbers. Keep collapsing the folders until you open them all in that numbers folder. Then right click and save the number file, putting suffix of '.txt' Open file in notepad. Make sure you know what resolution qualities are available for video before doing all this. Then CTRL+F then search for the number of resolution, for example if you want 1080 type that, 720 type that, etc. Search through the text file until you find .mp4 near your search term. Copy link, open a new tab, paste & go, and that's it. Then CTRL+S to save video as whatever you name it. Hope this helps.

I did this. There is no mp4 file in the txt file at all. I also tried to play the embeded vimeo file and it says the file cannot be played because of privacy settings. Is there another way to find the mp4 file?

Dont get it: at 1:22 after I found the embedurl at Elements tab, then what to do about that? Just ignore it and get back to Sources tab? Also, maybe they have changed it, there is no "pretty printed" and command F couldn't find mp4

Make sure u are in the full-screen video. If that still not works, copy paste the whole file into a document and just search manually for the word: mime or mp4. After this word u will find the full link with matching quality. I found it this way because it did not show the mp4 part aswell.

Hacks like these work until the provider come up with a solution to prevent this sort of thing. Apparently, they now use a different delivery method for anything greater than 360p.

I've been trying to download my own video I made for a project with some friends using Vimeo and I'm stubborn and am unwilling to pay $7 or more for a Vimeo subscription. Downloaded 2 videos by earlier method (network>filter>media...), Later on that method is not showing media. Then tried this method. No mp4 file in the whole script, searched and got a vimeo link and upon going there it's saying "private video", can't play even can't do anything. What's next dear? Help me out .
