why , whenever I run my game on game maker studio 2 it starts to build the game and take s very long time and doesn't end up with running the game

Do you get any errors in the compile section? Does it do this with all your projects? What about a project you've downloaded, like a demo, or one of mine?

it is currently impossible to download the trial version. after the registration the download link fails. just ridiculous. that says a lot about this software. the fact that exist a youtube vids tutorial, on 'how to click and where to download what on a web page' is self-explanatory... i say it again, just ridiculous! ....

ahhh, it happen again, when i download i click the app instead of the main screen it tells me "yoyo account login" but when i log in it shows an error, i remember i wrote the correct name i used and also used try gmail name including write name and password but it still shows error, what should i do ?

If you don't have any purchases tied to the old account, you can create a new one and just use that from now on. Or you can click on forgot password to try resetting it.

I have the trial version because I need it for a project, but whenever I try logging in it just turns off, no message or anything. I searched for any answers but forum threads just end up discontinued with no solutions provided, or the solutions don't work, no matter what I try doing. It's extra irritating because it's a matter of days for me to at least start making the project to have ANYTHING to show my professor :/

Yowza, that is annoying. I'd try uninstalling, making a new account, and getting the trial version from there and seeing if that helps.

for some reason, it tell me to login but when i login in it told something about the error, i'm sure that i have retry and do it again but it didn't work so i think i install it in wrong way, and your video is really helpful,thanks

+Khatab Aied Did you download it for the correct OS? Be sure that you get windows if you're on windows and Mac for Mac. What exactly does it do when you attempt to run it?

It seems you can't use the free trial anymore. It fails at login.

They have server issues from time to time, which is quite irritating. But try again later it should work.

I do believe so. The fundamental windows architecture hasn’t changed in a long time.

@@LetsLearnThisTogether It doesn't show me the folder. it just says "Gdy ame Maker Studio 2 is already installed, Press Ok to remove the previous version or press cancel to cancel this upgrade" i press the both buttons and still doesn't work

I don’t really. I’ve never had any issues installing, so I don’t have experience troubleshooting it. I suggest contacting yo-yo games and asking them. The tried and true extreme answer is to format your computer, but that’s not always a reasonable thing to do.

Sure, you just have to have the right licenses. The windows one is included with paid GMS2 copies, the android one you must purchase.

Go back and look at my most recent release notes video and I address this issue. The fix is to uninstall GameMaker and all your visual C++ redistributals, and then search for an older version of GameMaker and install it. That will find and install the extra files that are required.

I just downloaded Game Maker Studio 2. I imported a game I spent a year working on in Game Maker Master 1.4 just so I could post it to Google Play, but I have no idea where my exported APK file is going. I have all of the most recent SDK and NDK build tools. Game Maker 2 tells me that the game compiled an APK file, but I have no idea where it went. When I did a test run of my game with Game Maker Studio 2, it sometimes disables my android buttons (no apparent pattern) and disables functionality of objects (again, at random). I downloaded Game Maker Studio 2 just to simply get passed the Google Play 64-bit requirement, but Game Maker 2 is so unintuitive, I am ready to jst give up game development. Please help.

Don’t give up! If at all possible you should finish your game with GMS1, since that’s where you’ve spent so much time. If you have to upgrade, then use the log they make showing all their changes and comb through each entry and see if it’s causing issues. It will be a lot of work, but worth it in the end.

@@LetsLearnThisTogether I played around with it. It seems to only affect objects that interact with my virtual buttons. One thing I noticed with GMS2 is that there is no count instance button, just test instance if it exists. My code is if instance is greater than 0, do function. In GMS2, if instance exists, do function. Also, the exit event function seems to have some compatibility issues. The other thing that got affected was gravity. All gravity was set to 270, but in game, now switches between 0 or 180. I will continue to work. If you are interested in what I am making, check my RU-vid channel. I have a preview for my game.

Check out yoyogames.com and you can download GM there. The software is now named GameMaker, without the studio or 2.

Hi, I know that this is an older video of yours, it was very helpful but in the newer version of the yoyogames site there is a cookie policy, do you have any recommendations on how to deal with it? or avoid it.

Just accept. Every website has them now, based on EU laws. You can customize them if you really care, to only collect necessary data. But in reality, if you’re using the internet, you are the product to so many companies like Google and Facebook, so cookies are just a reality. They were present before, it’s just now they have to explicitly get your permission to use them.

I know this is completely irrelevant to the video but My windows pc has stoped working so now i cant work on my game. Now im going to get it on my mac, if i signed in to my yoyo games account on my mac, will i be able have the same game files? Like Sounds, Sprites, Objects, and Rooms? And i already payed for the 12 month license on my windows pc, do i still have to pay for the 12 month license in order to download it on mac?

I think it’s all compatible. I know the license is at least, as I haven’t purchased a Mac license and I can use GMS on my Mac. Pretty sure I also opened a project from a Pc on my Mac, so give it a try.

I am planning on bying game maker studio 2 desktop. And it also says that it has a 12 month licence. Can anyone tell me what that means

So gamemaker desktop has a permanent licence type, which means you'll only buy it once and it's yours forever. Some of the other modules are only good for 12 months, like the Xbox one or PS4 export modules. GameMaker doesn't take percents from the developer like Unity or Unreal, they have up front, easy to calculate costs. So don't buy those 12 month packages until you're totally ready to push to those machines.

+CANNON CLIPS Very odd. I'd recommend contacting their customer support. Maybe try asking them on Twitter why that's happening. I've never encountered any errors doing this, so I'm not too helpful in resolving them.

Understood thx for the help i think i figured it out,apparently when you try do uninstall the program(wich i thought i did a year ago) there are some files that can only be deleted after going in the files of the gamemaker and deleting it more than once.Its pretty strange.(By deleting more than once i mean if you delete the program go to the file and it wont be deleted so you do it motible times)

+CANNON CLIPS Ah. Did you uninstall through the default options, like the windows Uninstaller, or through a third party program like CCleaner? I think the latter is more powerful, so maybe it cleans up uninstalled programs better.

Hi! I want to ask if you can make a torrent for trial version because I have poor internet connection and my internet sometimes disconnect which makes download interrupted. And how many days trial version is active?

The trial version lasts forever. They just have limitations on the number Sprites, Rooms, etc.. that you can have in your game. hey so i know this video was last year but i have a problem with mine. Well the problem is that the trial version doesnt work anymore. When ever i redownload it, it just does the same thing. Whenever i run GameMaker Studio 2, it's just a white screen and i have no clue how to fix it

That doesn't sound right. seems like you might have a computer problem. Try downloading CCleaner and uninstalling GMS with that, then redownload it and install again.

So it seems to me that something with GMS specifically got messed up. Probably you need to clean out your registry, delete every install and temp file related to GMS, and then try again. Reg edits can be a bit scary though. If you've got Windows 10, go to settings and type reset. Reset your PC while keeping files and programs. That may work.

@@atroxxious Hmm. How did you get GMS 1 if you don't have a license? I thought they stopped selling it a long time ago. I think GMS 1 comes with GMS 2 when you buy it, and then you can download it and sign in with your account and it should work, that's how I do it.

You have to now sign into GameMaker Studio when you run it, which requires an online connection.

@@shubhsrivastava7884 No, you can't. To upload to Google, you must purchase a more expensive version of GMS. Then you can export it to Google. Check their website, yoyogames.com and click on buy and you can see which version and how expensive it would be. But be sure not to buy it now, as you can create the game almost completely before needing to have the more expensive license.

They have a trial version, yes. You can try it for free and learn a lot without paying for it.

+Khatab Aied It's probably a problem with your OS, and that's something that I can't help with much from here. My recommendation is to clean out your PC, refresh it, and then try and reinstall GMS.
