Yes you can. You can also do same with the first illustration but you have to be careful to leave the necessary allowances for joining the yoke 👍

Yes you can 👍 The difference between the underbust and waist doesn't stop your Basque waistline. Please remember when adding a Basque waistline on a dress, it's advisable not to go beyond 5 inches so that you can sew it properly. If you make the basque too deep like 6inches and above, it will become a bit difficult to sew. Kindly note that this only applies to a Dress that requires joining at the waist and not a Blouse with Basque waistline. For blouse, you can make the Basque as deep as you want(6 inches or more) since it won't be joined.

Yes, it's to remove the excess. This will also remove excess from the yoke but not draw the yoke down. Its important to always tighten or remove excess, most especially if its a net or lace that has a little bit of stretch 👍

Well, this all depends on the person. Sometimes Bust measurement 36 inches and below can be classified as smaller bust while 37 inches and above can be classified as bigger bust. The only issue with such classification is that in my experience over the years, some people may have a bust circumference of 40 inches but are not busty because they only have a bigger body frame while others may have a circumference of 36 inches and are very busty because they have a slimmer body frame. My advice is to apply the greater or less than 36 inches rule i mentioned earlier but also consider if your client is busty or not in relation to her general body size👍

Thanks for watching! There are several variations and styles of underbust corset and i only showed two types in the video 👍 If you don't want it to be straight; When drafting on the underbust line, go up by 2 or more inches right at the center front then create a cup like curve from that point towards the dart line during drafting. Please note that if its more than 3 or 4 inches, it may become more difficult to join. Also remember to remove the necessary darts after drafting and piece the underbust part with selotape to create the basque waistline. Once you're done, arrange what you've drafted and ensure every measurement is correct then head on and cut it out on your main fabric and join as seen in the video. Join the curved center front of the Underbust part to the bustier part like how you would join a basque waistline i.e start from the middle and sew to either sides. I hope this helps 👍

Okay 👍 For the first bustier drafting, I took in 0.75 inch on either sides of the Nipple to Nipple line and that is 1.5inch in total because my client has a smaller bust. For bust 40-45, it is advisable to use 2 - 2.5inch for darts. That is, 1inch or 1.25 inch on either sides of the dart line.
