Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on this tutorial, I have listened and now have a Take two of this tutorial on my channel to now include the finishing of the hem. To watch please follow this link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xpZ3h6mGB5E.html
Even with the same colored fabric and lining, your explanation was very, very clear and easy to follow along. Thanks for a fantastic tuorial. Exactly what I needed.
Well done! Especially for your first attempt. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for being an inspiration to try more difficult tasks, on camera, as well.
Thank you so much! Even despite the white on white fabric and lining, this was a very informative tutorial. I can now stop putting off the black pencil skirt that I am supposed to be working on.
Very good tutorial! What I liked the most was the instruction of 'flipping over' the lining to bring the lining/outer fabric pieces together in order to sew each side of the vent. That was extremely useful! I am always tempted to lift the lining piece off and then try to place it the correct way onto the outer fabric piece and I always get into trouble doing that because I get confused about which bit goes where. That has always been very frustrating. I will definitely do this the way you described because it makes lots of sense and cuts out making placement mistakes. I am very, very grateful that you showed it this way! This will be so, so useful! No more getting frustrated... Thank you!
Thanks for the great instructions. Whenever I have made this kind of skirt before I would get one that was professionally made and muddle though it. Your instructions totally demystified the process!
What an awesome tutorial! I'm doing happy you showed how to add the vent, because I have never done one and was wondering if it really was as easy as adding the vent to the pattern 😂 On top of your great explanation you have really soothing and lovely voice ❤
Hi. I tried your method and it worked great. I did fiddle a bit with the corner points after attaching the lining to both sides of the vent. Can you advise how you hemmed the skirt after you attached the lining as the skirt and lining is now attached and same length. Thank you
This is a bit awkward and repetitive, nevertheless remains the best vid on YT to describe this installation! It all became clear at the end when you said it was the first time you'd done it :-) Maybe have been better to get it down first, and then film. But it's still really helpful and I've made several good lining installations now through following this, so thank you. If you do make the video again, it would be fantastic if you could show how you finish/sew the hems of the lining and fashion fabric once the skirt is sewn. Many thanks!
Thank you for your observations. updated video on how to finish the hem is on my channel link - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xpZ3h6mGB5E.html
Thank you for the love, I tried. Please excuse me I've been watching your videos and I still have not caught your name... may I have it because I feel like were friends now! Hope to get the skirt to mum this week, i think she'll be grateful just to receive it after waiting so long for it.
Explains why, where and how to cut the lining, which is excellent! The only problem is white background, white material, white thread and occasional out of focus vid makes it hard to see.
Thank you Roxana. yes would be happy to make a tutorial about darts. Is it the drafting or the sewing your need help on? or maybe I'll just cover both. Please bear with me as I've had to take a little time off from filming, but back very soon, I promise.
For me personally, it would be in drafting , i like this kind of skirts, but i can't manage any pattern ...i have made it my self , but at the darts, i don't know why it is for ex 12 cm long in the front and 8 in the back (as i"ve seen in some videos), soo, i would like to know how to draw it correctly? sorry if my english isn't perfect, hope you understand, thank you for making the time for my need:)
is there any chance you can do another with different colours. ive been desperate for help to do this and you explain it so well but i just couldnt follow it not seeing it properly .
juliet bumstead Thank you so much for watching Juliet. I’ve been trying to get round to redoing this video for awhile, and I will surely get there. We have had a sad loss in the family and I’ve just not got it together yet. I’ll be back very soon.
I suspected that would be the case, should have gone with my instincts on this one. No problem, I will definitely re-do the tutorial with contrasting fabrics. Thanks for letting me know.
