How to draw a colorful bird (Rooster) - Faber castell polychromos pencils. 

for those who don't know, it works because faber castell polychromos are oil based pencils

I have never heard of using baby oil as a blender, wow, it was amazing to see! Thank you so much for the lesson I don’t have any experience in using colored pencils but now I think I may give it a try. You’re certainly a great inspiration!

Hello again Art@Fadil, firstly i want to say, your drawings are fantastic, and inspiring, and i have taken back up drawing again since whatching your tutorials and various videos.... could i possibly ask for a request, there is a bird called the eurasian golden oriole, its a bird of mostly yellow, with black wings, so not much variation on colour. i would love to see how you would go about drawing/colouring a bird of which there is mostly one colour and how you bring the details out :) All the Best and have a wonderful new year ! :)

You know, next time I should just show others that they don't need a perfect sketch to color something fantastic. Actually, I did abandon a lot of drawings, because the outline looked too stupid. I should really pick them up again and finish them. Great video, thanks!

When you outline prior to starting your coloring, do you use graphite pencils? I tried that recently, but when I went to blend, the graphite smeared and ended up showing through the colors I had created :( I don't know if I had just pressed too hard, or if I was supposed to blend the edges differently, but any tips would be very much appreciated..

What solution are you using for blending, is that alcohol solution? Will it work with Prisma color pencils? Please give details about the blending brush too. Awaiting your comment. Thank you.

Is this copyrighted? Can I use this to base my work off of? I’m drawing a rooster for class in for school and I work best by looking off of others work and drawing what I see. Anything i draw that looks similar to the original artist is just for practice not for profit or show. I just need to know how to start it and the tail I mainly do it for practice and 👏👏👏👏👏 amazing job so realistic! I’m just not exactly sure if they would make me put it in the art show that’s.

Won't the baby oil soak the paper? I can see some wet patterns behind the paper also. I'm using a sketchbook so when I turn the page, it looks odd for me. Is it how it works or am I doing something wrong? 😅

Don’t even bother trying to follow him without an electric eraser, you’ll be frustrated cuz the white pencil doesn’t do shit. Oh well amazing tutorial tho thats for sure

Hi Fadil, Firstly, I love your channel and well explained tutorials, appreciate you sharing your talent and knowledge with us. Was just wondering if the baby oil spreads slowly after you finish the drawing? I have just gotten back into art and drew a realistic cherry the other day using Prismacolor premier pencils and used baby oil as the solvent (as per your recommendation). Today I opened my sketch book after a couple of weeks since I drew the cherry and there seems to be a thick ring of oil spread around the cherry. Have you experienced this? Am I, perhaps, only experiencing this issue due to incorrect paper usage (in a Canson visual diary)? Thanks for your help

How long did it take you from start to finish? Does the baby oil dry eventually or do you have to be careful not to smudge the drawing?

You could have done all of the outline from the start instead of drawing the wings with the colour pencils :/

Can u blend wax based pencil colours with that baby oil?

Jade below had a comment asking what type of brush you used to blend in the baby oil. I would like to know as well. I primarily only paint with watercolors, so only have watercolor brushes and one scrubber brush; however, I'd like to try to incorporate this blending technique in with my colored pencils projects so please do let us know what type of brush you are using.
