this was extremely helpful to me, I've trying to learn proper shading for a while and this video really taught me how to guess shading level from the object itself (rather than just guessing)... that's because the image itself was there on the video. thanks

This video like many others of Wei is amazing, thank you so much for go along with the process or learning how to draw because it's seems you know very much about the frustrating parts of drawing, because you put a lot of effort to make us know about what details are important and sometimes harder than others. in the recent years i begin practicing meditation, and when i try to put my full atention to the process of cross hatching I realized that draw are a "full body" activity and be aware of the movementes of the arm and shoulder can show us the importance of draw as much as we can, and have tha patience to build the "draftsman mind" and the "draftsman body" to create a strong structure of graphic representation. Your videos shows the work of years and decades of efforts in drawmanship, Thank you for share this begining steps for a long path with this relation with a beatiful extention fo the body, the mind and the soul that we call pencil

Do you sharpen the pencil you're using with a sandpaper thing to get that chisel tip, or does some lead come that way? I'd think that the shape of the lead has a lot to do with the way the shading turns out.
