This was a great step by step on a dog's eye..I appreciated knowing the colors so I could use them along the way. I stopped and started the video a few times, but I was able to draw the dog's eyes for a friend's dog. Thank you so much.

Loved your video very well done! Might I make a suggestion? I am a transcriptionist and I went to the transcript to see what paper and pencils you used. Thank goodness I know my papers and pencils because anyone looking in the transcript would never find Ken … paper and the pencil yikes. Other than that I got a lot out of your video thank you

Ohhh forget about my question . You said it in th beginning oops lol :). I rewatched it and realized it. You're amazing . But I have a new question . Which would you recommend to me ? The faber castel 120 set or the Caran dache 76 set? I like that he faber castell price better since is a little cheaper and brings a lot more colors than the Caran dache . But please give me your opinion :). Can one make realistic portraits and animals with just the faber castells? I've heard they're more difficult to blend but your blend them really well. So I'm not sure what to do . :/.
I would go for the Faber Castells! I would still get 1 white caran d'ache though. You can use that for blending. But overall I find the Faber castells a lot more versatile and easier when it comes to building layers and adding small details. The Caran d'ache I would recommend if you are going to focus on human portraits only, but for a wider variety of subjects the Faber Castells would be a good purchase. You can't go wrong with them! You can also purchase a smaller Faber Castell set and some individual Caran d'ache pencils to see which one you like better. In most art stores you can buy both pencils individually. That's what I've done:)

From dickblick or amazon? Right now I saw the Caran dache have a very price but on Amazon :/. Should I trust the seller form Amazon? He's called LY something . I would expect it to say sold by carandache and sent by Amazon but no :/
I'm not sure what you mean with the distortion (I can't see it), but with human eyes you see the the whole iris most of the time and a lot more eye white. With dogs you only see part of it as the eyelids cover the top and bottom, which means it's not completely round if the dog is relaxed.
@@Leontinevanvliet what i mean is, why is there a semicircle cut out of the lower left part of the iris, at the 7'0clock position? The semicircle became part of the brown area around the iris; why is that? thanks.
If you want to be an effective teacher....you need to go much slower and explain each color then show the technique. When you speed up the video it's pointless we want to learn EXACTLY HOW YOU "MOVE" the pencil AND MIX THE COLORS. 😊
