I see alot of people saying they don't like your videos cause you talk too much, but your random (albeit humorous) banter with yourself actually helps, in a way. Like when i need to remember something when drawing, im like "oh ya! thumbs down mitten!!" so thanks for that mark :D
Hey Mark, this comment is long but I hope you read it. I've been subbed to you for a couple of years now and have studied most of your videos. I think you are an amazing teacher, not only do you make it easy to understand the fundamentals, you also inspire thousands to pursue their dream of creating a manga. Thanks to you I went from a very basic knowledge, to drawing confidently in my own style. If you're interested, I'd love to show you a before and after of my drawings thanks to your lessons and words of encouragement. Thank you so much for all you do, It really means more to us than you know.
@@markcrilley hey mark what type of pencil did you use for the drawing like 5b, 2h, etc? I’m drawing with a 2h and 2b for a school art project, would that work?
Thank you, extremely helpful! Just started drawing and your tutorials are a blessing, please keep doing them as explicit as possible - we truly appreciate them! Wish there was away to show you how I did.
Thank you Mark !!! I watch your videos are already three years, and thank you very much for perfected my art. I'm Brazilian, and i'm so sorry for the mistakes in English.
Hi mark i just wanted to tell you that i've started to draw because i watched one of your videos when i was in 3rd grade, and ever since then i've became so talented in drawing it just grew onto me. Im 16 now and im going to turn 17 soon, and im still drawing on my own. But all i wanted to say was thank you. Because if I didn't see one of your videos, I wouldn't have any passion in drawing. I've been making my own stories, and people love them. And im truly grateful. Thank you so much
Mark, I've been watching for as long as I can remember being serious about drawing! If I'm feeling iffy about something, I'll always look to see if you have a video for it! Thank you so much for helping me grow as an artist for almost six years, I think it is now. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to draw fire without making it look silly. One of my characters is a fire elemental and it would help me so so so so so much! :)
This is a great video! Drawing a character turning away is something that is very hard to do and you are right there are not very many tutorials on it. Thank you for drawing this and explaining how to!
Thank you so very much. I am in the middle of a painting and I just keep messing up the face facing away. I love the way you explain things. I don’t know what I would do without people like you explaining this stuff ❤️
Can you please do more elaboratve videos on folds in clothes in different poses (including more sitting positions) and fabrics? Please? P.S and more hair tutorials of guys like the hair in this video... or like the "spiky" way you draw Brody's?
Hello Mr.Mark Crilley just wanted to say "thanks for writing your how to draw books" They are extrememly helpful even for me when it comes to somewhat showing my friend how to draw. We're hunting down Brody's Ghost and some other books of yours to advance our skills. So again thank you :D
Everytime I'm struggling with a certain problem, you always make a video about it. Thank you so much Mark! I've improved so much thanks to you! I hope you'll make a Naruto drawing soon (I know you already did one) honoring the end of the manga!
Crilley you are awesome!!! I always liked drawing and just started watching anime. You really helped me on learning some super helpfully tips on drawing manga :) thx you are the best
"Why not? Throw caution to the wind, you only live once. Let's draw an eyebrow. Dog gone it!" -Mark Crilley Thanks a ton Mark for making me spit milk all over the computer monitor!
markcrilley I was wondering (I know it’s been a long time since you uploaded this video) but could you do a full face and body of the guy you drew? Thanks
I was always had a knack for drawing, But I could only copy drawing other people have made, like fan art, people complimented it and said it looks good. but, I was never able to draw things I had in my mind, Until I saw your how to's Thank Mark Crilly!
Your awesome and wonderful. I admire your work you've taught me a lot since I've subscribed to you. All your tutorials/ narratives are fully detailed and extremely easy to understand. And for that sir I thank you Senpai.
AHH! Thank you so much! Whenever I try to draw a guy's face it looks horrible, mine definitely doesn't look as good at yours but I finally drew a good looking face from the side, THANK YOU SO MUUCCHHHH
Mark can you please draw old man time lapse. It would be so cool if you do and yes also can you draw the female version of this video. Please mark make the video of old man time lapse ^.^
This video was really helpful for me, thanks! I would really love a female version of this, it's just the subtle differences in the face structure that get me real muddled XD
Maybe this is a weird video request, but could you make a video showing exercises, assignments or projects you had to do in Art school? I think it would be really helpful in giving beginning artists (like me) some direction, and a way to challenge ourselves.
Nice vid Mark! I recently picked up the first book of Miki Falls and loved it! (read it in one day) Going to have to get the next one before I start going through withdrawals...
Hey Mark im a fan of all the stuff you do and you've inspired me to do a comic of my on...you've showed and gave me so many tips on comic book making and I was wondering if you could make a video about how to get a comic published please and thank you ❤️
Hey Mark! I love to draw manga and anime but for me its hard to find an art teacher that teaches it, but lucky me I found your channel. I was wondering if you would do a tutorial on inking anime and coloring it in with prismacolor colored pencils. Thanks for everything mark crilly!!
I am new to Crilley Fandom, but I am having a blast with Mastering Manga 1 and love, love, LOVE the youtube tutorials! I got my first "trusty black Prismacolor" and I am really imressed with its superiority to classroom grade colored pencils, so I would like to know more about the mediums you use. Like what to look for in quality water colours and markers. Also, two things I have always found very challenging to draw realistically are water (especially moving water) and fire. If you could do a tutorial on those two things it would be totally awesome!
Thank you so much for being such a inspiration to me, you have helped me a lot these past few months. By being able to understand, and to work my way up to easier drawing skills. Thank you. ~Diana
U r awsome mark today not to long ago actually I picked up ur mastering manga 2 book I haven't got the first one but the 2 one is very helpful keep up the awsome drawing
Amazing video as usual, Mark!! :)) Of course it would be lovely if you did a similar video with a girl model, since the figure and shapes are so different. It's all so interesting- proportion really is beauty!! :D
Hi Mark! My name is Cassie, and I am a 17 year old aspiring artist. I love doing illustration of every kind from manga type of art to realism to everything in between. I was wondering, how does someone like me break into the the field of illustration and find the right art career? Thanks!
This is just me, but I think it would be a glorious thing if Mark put an Easter egg in a future comic of his where a character is walking by a storefront or something and there's a display for Snake Belly and their debut "Puff of Flesh" album
markcrilley Hey mark! Love you my man! Maybe an idea for a next video, do like a machine showing the gears and fluids that flow. Just a giant machine of some sort. War bot, cleaning drone. ANYTHING. Like you may or may not remember, I'm 14 and hope to become a wonderful man like you. Concept artist, illustrator, animator, anything that involves my love of art! Keep doing what you're doing and make great videos!
Hey there Mark, Can you make a video on how to draw a boxer or maybe a Muay Thai fighter in their fighting stance? It would be great if you could! Keep up the great work!
Mark, do you think you will do videos with less guidelines? I don't think you draw those kinds of guidelines *every* time you draw a certain figure, and I would really like to see your process. :)
oh my gouache is what the secret word thing says and a gouache is also spelled guache, is a type of paint consisting of pigment, a binding agent (usually gum arabic), and sometimes added inert material, designed to be used in an opaque method. It also refers to paintings that use this opaque method. The name derives from the Italian guazzo. it is french ( can you tell i looked that up lol )
mark you are the best for me i would like to buy some of your books and study how u work on manga but i cant find ur books so i tried to draw this and it went really good so thank you very much and i wish u have a good day :)
A few questions, first, how do you preserve your artwork? I'd like to thank you for introducing me to watercolours with coloured pencils (totally solved my colour pencils issues of white gaps and even coverage, love the combo!). I recently did a picture of a friends kid, and she wants the original, only I have no idea how to stop the pencil blooming without spraying with a varnish - which I assume would make the watercolours run? Also, pretty please, could you talk a little about your design process, I know you've covered it a little in places, but I'm really struggling to transition from drawing realistically from life/ photos, to being able to use references to make up my own ideas, I have something I desperatly want to draw but don't know how. Annnnnnd... could you explain how to line draw and give it volume, I've been told my art lacks volume and that I need to go back to line drawing and get that right first. My answer to adding volume has always been shading, so I'm rather stumped how to acheive this. Thank you for your amazing, inspiring tutorials, i've learnt so much from you!
I love it so much ! it was really cool ! :D Also, can you do tutorial video about female profile & turning away and more ..? I would love to to see and learn about it :)
+markcrilley another job well done, I would normally have trouble with this particular pose an I am obliged for you doing this helpful tutorial the more I look at these videos the more I learn from you its online teaching you know, um so I know your probably a busy guy an maybe you might answer my question but my question for the day is do you think you could do a tutorial of how to draw one of the characters from Free! That anime is buzzing everywhere due to its popularity thank you an hope to watch your next video sensei!
Hey Mark, Great video like always :D Thank you for the videos because of them I'm getting better at drawing and just place in the local show for one of my drawings, Thank You So Much! Could you do a video on a male character carrying a female character, that would be very helpful if you could. Thanks again, Jess
Hello Mark C. Ur vids are so awesome! But I wanted to ask you: What age do you think a person could start his/her job on creating a manga? If so, how long does it take (on average) to prepare until you publish for the first time?
I'd love to see a similar video for a person who's turned away but looking back at us over their shoulder. Gender is up to you^^ Btw, thank you for teaching me how to draw!! Thanks to you I have this hobby now :-D
Hay Crilley I have some Questions to ask you so I can finish a career project for school. 1 What responsibilities dose your job have 2 What kind education do you have 3 What do you feel your contributing to society. I would love a answer as soon as you can but you know take your time but december is my dead line. I love your work Crilley and just to mack you happy I have got your mastering manga book and find it a big help. thank you so much.
Just a question. My guess is that you use prismacolors beause you are used to them, but if you have not already, you should consider getting a sponsorship from them, you do make exellent product placement. Even i tried them out and they work really well! (Not trying to be bad mannered, i really like your videos)
Could you pls show how to draw the same character in multiple angles?? Iv noticed that you've already made several videos on this but usually its just one or two angles some of them being the somewhat simialer. What I'm imagining is that you could even skip the body and all that and just show the heads to go in detail about what is key to draw at which angle. justa suggestionbecause it would get the whole angle thing out of the way.
