How do you remove the guides for the completed mandala? The tutorial is one of the best I have found for creating the desired mandala, but I can't erase the guides. Please help

Thank you for a great tutorial! I did have one question. On my PC when I try to draw the initial Ellipse it's never just a circle - it starts to look like a flower. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
