Гелена! Огромное спасибо за Ваши теплые слова!😊💗 Я бы хотела выкладывать видео чаще, но сейчас не хватает времени. Я веду курсы по пастели и все время уходит на подготовку видео уроков и обратной связи для учеников. Но скоро опубликую видео с зимним пейзажем на канал! Оно уже снято и смонтировано!

Is there a reason for doing the drawings on 1000 grit sandpaper?

I often use 800 or 1000 grit sandpaper for small artworks on the RU-vid channel. This is an accessible material that my viewers can find in any hardware store and try to draw. But you can use professional pastel paper if you prefer.

Mam A4 size of white paper is comfortable for drawing

Vikash! It is best to use paper for pastels or abrasive (sandpaper) paper. If you do not have anything like that, take a paper for watercolor, and make one layer of gouache or watercolor. Because it is not recommended to draw with pastels on white paper. Must be a shade, not white. In this video, I use a ordinary sandpaper, fine grit 1000. I buy in the building shop. P.S. I hope you understand me, English is not my native language! I'm from Russia!😉

As a basis, it is better to take toned pastel paper. It is not recommended to draw on white paper with soft pastels. Also, you can use ordinary sandpaper, which you can buy in a construction store.

At the beginning of the work, I determine for myself what the light and shadow will be. If the shadows are cold, then the light is warm. And vice versa. In this work, in the light, I used warm colors as an accent, and the mountains were made in cold colors. P.S. Sorry! My English is not perfect! My native language is Russian. I hope you understand me well.
