Hi everyone! Here's my drawing of a Mountain Stream Landscape! I really hope this helps out. It's such a fun and relaxing style of drawing to work on. I always enjoy adding the different layers from the background to the foreground. Let me know what you think. And also be sure to let me know if you have any suggestions for future drawing videos. Thank you so much for the amazing support! Hope you're all having a lovely day. :) -Chris
I commented below but wanted to say thanks! You inspired me to paint a landscape again soon, I will try to put it on my channel. Also your video was super relaxing btw!! Really glad I found your channel! liked and subscribed and hit the bell! :)
The reason behind me actually wanting to follow your tutorials is that your techniques are so simple yet, so elegant. I usually see artists recommending a bunch of different pencils and switching a lot as they go along (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's more of an advanced technique maybe) but you did most of the work with a mechanical pencil! Thanks so much for this. Really enjoyed it :)
As an amateur, I have been drawing the same thing for years. A cabin with mountains in the background, sometimes with streams sometimes without. As a person in recovery, its so soothing. Watching you, I learned the importance of using a darker thinner lead, and even an eraser, to create that beautiful contrast between the shaded and non shaded side of the mountains or as you used it in the grassy area by the river. What a difference maker that is. Also, I have always used my finger to shade or blend, did not even know that they made a blending utensil. On my way to Michaels now. I am actually going to try and learn to draw correctly! I hope you have many vids. You are now officially my art teacher. Ok, MY GOD, I just went to your home page and your lessons are awesome.
I've always dreamed of being able to draw landscape like this, I have so many ideas in my head, this world I want to just put out. I am a musician, so I've quickly come to like impressionism, whereas I try to create these images with music, wish I could make art to it aswell ;c
Hi Chris, I found this tutorial in my search for guidance in how to draw water. I am grateful to find you. So far my drawing is coming along nicely. Thank you so much for being my art guru. I often have to pause the video because I need to absorb what you're doing before trying it myself, but all in all, it's working pretty well to watch and then attempt to do the same thing you're doing. It's a fun challenge and SO rewarding to complete a decent drawing!
I actually tried this while watching the vid rewinding back on it sometime and my piece isn't terrible it is not as good as urs but you can still tell mine is a mountain! TYSM!!
Amazing tutorial! I really enjoy the way that you shadow the landscape, it gives so much dimension and detail. Keep it up! I Definitely enjoy the "How to's".
Your artwork always amazes me, Chris! As an artist myself (more or less), I can really appreciate what you do. I can't draw realistically to save my life, so your artwork provides a lot of inspiration for me, and I really look up to you. I strive to be as talented and as skilled as you are. Also, I love the dragon drawings you do for your Fantasy art Fridays from time to time!
It's Covid-19 lockdown here where I am and I have used the tutorial video to explore a different side of art from my usual abstract avenue. I've had a successful afternoon in between messaging across the world to keep in touch. It's been a great help and really detailed. Even though I only used the few drawing pencils I had, plus an eraser, I just struggled when it came to the bottom of the picture with the foreground landscape and stream. I'll definitely try to do some more. Thoroughly engaging. Thank you
Yes, yes, YES! I can't wait to give this a go. I just found the perfect frame for such a drawing (an old, wood frame at our local thrift store. It's perfect!), so this shall be my next lovely lesson. Thank you, Christopher!
If you have one, use a touch pen (those cheap ones for phones) as a blending .. brush / tool .. idk If you do, just keep in mind: try to not press it down. Otherwise you'll get hard edges, wherever the bulb of the touch pen ends... it can be used to make blended edges or effects on a sphere... but it's not the best tool. Although: It's durable. I have been using this technique for 3 months and my touch pen isn't any different from the beginning... but I've gotten better at using it
Hi Chris, I'm finding your techniques and style really interesting and you've helped me to keep on trying to improve my drawing. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Wow!! There is a great sense of depth in this one! Love the clouds around the mountain and I love how prominent the mountain looks! And of course the trees add a nice touch and more depth to the landscape, and I just love trees anyways lol! Great drawing!!
Hey Chris! I just wanna say how awesome the drawing turned out and when I get home I'm gonna give it a go. Plus, you are the Bob Ross of landscape drawings. You're awesome! Keep it up.
I really like your artworks in every video and it really helps to improve my on art by the tips you give. It is also so nice to watch your videos and just watch you draw and listen to the music.
Chris please make a shading tutorial. your shading is awesome.. I made the eagle and the assassin's creed drawings they came out great (for a noob like myself) . I think that shading is the hardest part for beginners. Thanks for your awesome videos I'm glad I found your channel.
Thanks for sharing. This is really relaxing to mimic your art. I tried a few times; TBH nothing turned out great like yours. But it took my mind off of work and that is the point. Keep up the good work.
LethalChris, your Landscape Drawings are amazing. If I could make a request for a *new* series of drawings...I would like you to do some drawings of the Seven Wonders of the World. Also, I would like to see you draw Mount Fiji.
Wow this is great! I got into painting landscapes and I have not done a landscape in a long time(years)! You inspired me to paint a landscape again soon! maybe I will put it on my channel! Glad I found your channel! liked and subscribed! :)
hello I can say that i'mnot that good on drawing but i saw this channel and inspired me .... you are wonderful and thank you for the tips you said on your vids.....
What a fantastic video and very helpful! And since I am a beginner, I completed this more in about 20 minutes; because, I didn’t spend as much as you would for the details! Hahah
I'm not quite at your level yet!! But good enough to want to hang my landscapes on my wall. Hopefully someday I can hang it on others for some extra $$$
