I think “traditional” has confines. These confines can be broken and still be labeled “traditional” but to keep it simple. Bold lines, minimal color pallet, images based on “tradition” something vintage and classic. Blunt or whipped shading. Solid color or black. I think what makes an image have “power” is the next level. EMOTION! does your tattoo convey an emotion? I want my tattoos to be intimidating, readable, and question less. I strive for people to know what the tattoo is from across the street. And to have no questions but to feel the tattoo is strong and the image in intense.
Use tracing paper, fold in half, draw half the image on one side, and then turn it over and trace it on the other and open the paper and it’ll be symmetrical
