Very inspiring to bring quick sketches into my journal. Thanks so much!!! We are still buried in snow up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Last snowstorm was 18 inches over one day last weekend. I definitely needed a taste of spring today.

this was my morning, "sketch along" and where I struggle is with the shading. I don't understand how you determine where the light, mediums and darks are. thanks again for the tutorial, if you squint just right you can make out that my drawing is an iris!

My mother in law used to call these "flags" .
