Sweet Zara, I wasn’t sure where to ask this question. Here or on your Patreon where I also belong. Do you use a fixing agent on your pastels? I’m trying to figure out how to keep them from smearing/smudging before I give them to my customers. I just finished my first one ever.😊

Hi Elizabeth, I dont use any kind of fixative on my pastel work because it changes the colour of the portrait. But I do make sure my pastel portraits are mounted to make them ready to be framed as soon as the client has them. As soon as they're behind glass they're fully protected. I use Pastelmat paper and with that as it grips the pastel they say there is no need for a fixative =)
