Shoo Rayner is an award-winning illustrator and author of over 200 books for children.
The Shoo Rayner Drawing Channel won the 2011 RU-vid NextUp award and is dedicated to teaching, promoting and inspiring drawing for everyone from beginners to experts who like to see how other people do what they do.
Shoo believes that everyone can draw but they lose confidence at school when they think they have to make their drawings look perfect or in a recognised classic style.
Drawing is just making marks on paper and you are allowed to draw anyway you like

How wonderful that you got to see so much of Beatrice Potter in person. A few years ago l got to see the original painting she did for the Tailors of Gloucester. At the Victoria and Albert museum. I was awestruck by her skill!! Thanks for doing this fun reproduction. ❤❤❤

I didn't grew up with the stories so I love to listen to you reading them and enjoy the art too. My mom loves the Foxwood Tales and so I sometimes paint something for her that looks similar to it. (Christmas cards and such)

Hello~ Two years ago, I found you on RU-vid, and actually drew and painted along with you. It actually turned out beautifully in my opinion 😊 I posted it on my Facebook page a week ago, and I couldn’t believe all the lovely complainants I received. One in particular was from my childhood friend. She said her 10 year old daughter loved it. So I’m doing another one and will be sending it to her framed and matted. One problem, how in the world did I draw this. I gave the one I did away already so what to do.? I thought to myself I had help I know it. Then a lightbulb went off. I’m back again and so happy I remembered where I saw this beautiful drawing and painting. It was you! You’re the best. Your teaching technique is so patient and understanding. So blessed I found you two years ago and now. Bravo to you!

We just found your channel and are mesmerized ! Will purchase the rotring pen and the watercolors, but would like to ask you which dip pen and ink your are using, so I can buy the same. Seeing you paint bubbled up the happy memories and the joy within me, that I experienced while painting as a little girl. Hi Shoo! Another wonderful Beatrix-inspired jaunt! Why do you suppose you're so tuned-in with her work recently? I've been a great fan for ages, and find it wonderful that you're bringing her/her work relevant again! I recently saw in a local book store a 2016 book, "The Art of Beatrix Potter" by Emily Zach, which was a gorgeous tour of her work, with a good focus on her landscapes and studies. You've got such an incredible handle on her characters, beautifully rendered, I wonder what your thoughts would be on her background art. My biggest challenge is always how to keep the main character in the forefront of such lavish backgrounds, as she created. Thank you for the video, as always! Cheers! :)

I love this :D My only comment is that your logo is placed right over Peter, so it's difficult to compare as you're drawing.

Beatrix must have taken hours and hours on each book. Such a lot of detail on each page. I have most of the books. Love your bunny painting.

Can I buy this Peter Rabbit book on Amazon? Your drawing is amazing ❤❤❤❤❤! I love it sooo much. And I love Peter Rabbit. He is so cute. I want to learn from you. Your videos are so beautiful and very inspiring. But also very difficult to me in trying out them, hehe. But it's a good chance for practice my drawing. Wooohoooo, ink drawing 💟. I love it!!! 😍 And - thank you very very much for the slow!!! step by step watercolor coloring of your rabbit 😘. I have so BIG problems with the coloring and haven't found the best method for me so far (I love watercolor and colored pencils as most)... Have a wonderful inspired day and a great weekend now. I must try it out. But with the color ~ I don't know...

Tine kreativ You can buy Beatrix Potter books on Amazon or anywhere online. You may even find in book stores. Beatrix Potter is the well known 19th century author and illustrator of Peter Rabbit and other cute characters. Shoo does an amazing job of teaching how to draw and paint Peter Rabbit.

Ah this is lovely. Lovely job. Thank you so much for teaching. I've always loved Beatrix Potter illustrations. I had a go at painting one the other week. Couldn't figure the colours exactly. I used ultra marine instead of prussian blue for the jacket. It was ok. But now I know that Prussian blue is the better choice. Wasn't sure what your palette colours you used. It would be lovely if you listed the colours. Naples yellow Burnt sienna And then I wasn't sure what brown you used? Was it an umber of some kind? You mentioned cad yellow or an ochre for the buttons. And Prussian blue for jacket. Thanks again.
