This video goes through my process for drawing realistic fur. This is by no means the only method but it is the one that I use for most of my drawings. I hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful!

I have to say, once I started applying that dark charcoal at the end it's like a rebelation eye opening. my charcoal hair looks by far better than my pencil version. you are such a great teacher! thanks for this video.

I have recently found your channel and think your videos are great! Keep up the good work. I really like like this one. Would using toned paper make it easier?

I think it depends on the piece you are trying to create, I sometimes like to tone bits of my paper with acrylic washes before drawing, but I do like having the white of the paper show through in some places in my finished drawings. I don’t really find it any easier with the toned paper it’s just a slightly different experience
