Thank you for this video! When I was 15 years old I traced my Barbie dolls as bodies to sketch out my designs. This would've been helpful 12 years ago.
This tutorial helped me a lot for my very first sketch! I am currently designing my own clothing line and learning the basics of drawing is going to play a very important role in my career. Thank you soooo much for your wonderful tips, I truly appreciate it!
Off topic of drawing (very interesting by the way) I love your make up in this video, and the hair tucked in... it's a good look for you, very flattering. Really enjoying your videos.
you don't know how much of of a difference it made to my drawing these are super-duper helpul. My dream of being a fashion designer is one step closer thank you soooooo much

Brilliant....never thought my first sketch would actually look like something but lo and behold. Thanks!!
I love it because it's so simple and clear for beginners. I don't know how to draw and I was dreading drawing but I am much calmer now you show this. Please help me showing exactly the legs and knees and side and back view. Thank you
+athena energy Shine ok! I will address the legs and knees in an upcoming "fashion drawing for beginners" video. Back and side view also deserve their own video because there are several aspects to explain, there. Stay tuned & you will get all your answers! 😊
Oh Lord, this is really going to take time to learn..And then learning to draw all cloths. But what a nice way to learn, through creativity and joy and of course from tutorial Justine. Im so thankful. It doesnt matter its going to take some time. Its the way through this process we need to join and open up the creativity within ourselves, I think... Thank you Justine for a grate video and a grate teaching!. Monica
Thank you so much. Thank you for getting back to me. Also when you have time could you show how to put on the clothes for front view, side view and back view. I am terrible at drawing I am just learning to draw. I never need to draw in my life so I never bother to learn but now I need too since I started a fashion course. Therefore i am really following everything and every rules and measurements or tips as you say. Your videos I can follow as you do explain it as if someone who have not got a clue can follow. So it's good that you take the time with these. Because when I get lost in class I just follow the tutorials. Thank you I know you must be busy as fashiondesigner.
If you take a standard ruler 📏 and use the width of that for making your horizontal lines on a standard size paper. The key is keep all your horizontal lines the same width. I paint on large surfaces and I sketch my work out before I start painting. I learned this many years ago in art classes.
I haven't even watched all of this video yet, but just wanted to say how I appreciate your attitude regarding the '12 headed girl'. You may touch on this in the video but I wanted to ask, is there a way to adjust/adapt the scale for petite or larger women, for children, etc? I would want to design for everyone. I've picked up tips from What Not to Wear ~ what doesn't work for petite bodies, for instance, but I just wondered about actually drawing the figures for designing. Thank you!
hello..justina my name is pooja and i am from india and i really like your video and i make your sketch and i draw perfectly for my self ...thank you so much dear ...for this video i am really happy ..and i always watch your video thank you again
Hi thank you for this video I'm student I take classes about economy and business management I don't know anything about fashion I woke up some day and i said hey look I wanna create my own mark of clothes so I said that I need to learn how to draw and that's how I made to here. So what do advice me to do
@@raaeh627 do a search on fashion design sketching, line drawing, figure drawing. Also for beginners you can look up shading basic shape…important to understand as it is applied to all sorts of designs, drawings, paintings…also search for under painting as this shows how to make your artwork look realistic and not flat. Hope this helps and good luck on your journey to doing what you love!
+Fatma Abdi practice! Gather good poses from magazines and try to reproduce the poses. If you watch my tutorials, you will learn how to draw the front, the side and the back view. The other poses are variations!
I really appreciate all your videos on drawing and other subjects. The pencil marks, however, are a bit too light to be seen easily. In the future could you please use a heavier pencil or adjust the lighting on the paper? Thanks very much for all that you share so generously.
Hi Justine. I would like to ask some more questions if that's ok. When I would like to draw petite/short, or tall or plus size or different body shape model do I still use the 10 head drawing and just make a note the measurements of clothes later or do I draw them with different proportion from the begining? Thank you
+athena energy Shine You need to actually draw that differently - because you still want your drawing to give an idea of the proportions at the end. You would keep the 10 heads but then: for petite, make the legs shorter compared to the torso and make her a little "thicker". For plus-size, keep the long legs, but don't hesitate to increase her curves (hourglass shape) even more.
Hi Justine , thank you very much for the tutorial its so easy to understand to me as a beginner :) . I want to ask that : how long (in centimeter) for 1 segment is ? is it enough for 10 segments if i use A4 paper ? thanks ;D
Great video. I can design clothes and make patterns, even make the clothes from my patterns, but when it comes to Design the model or figure, well not so much, I didn't learn that in school and it is very important to show how the clothes will look. Your video is very interesting, precise and understandable I hope to subscribe to your channel and learn from You. Thank You.
