How to dredge a pond with a dozer. Very impressive operating by the man himself, Jerry 

I could take a lawn chair and a sack lunch, and sit their and watch you guys work all day.

I’m a 3rd generation dozer operator and contractor from the southwest Fort Worth, Texas area. Even though I do commercial, residential, mining and all types of excavation. Soil conservation, Farm/Ranch work has always been my favorite and most personal rewarding work as a contractor and more so as an operator. It was a pleasure watching this video. I was right there with you from start to finish. Y’all do great work which is refreshing in todays times. A lot skidsteer folks getting in the business, but cleaning out stock ponds is still work for a Dozer and excavator. Cleaned a lot of ponds out over the years with just a dozer, but wow… the help and increase in production an excavator brings. It takes a lot of the fight out for the dozer. Bottom line is, I wanted to personally say… great job with much respect. It’s always a pleasure watching good operators work. You have a good dozer man with Jerry… Good dozer men are a dying breed, not many of us left. This is the first and only video I can think of I’ve commented on. God Bless and Keep up the Good Work. Big lesson here on how a boss relates to a pro working a job. Inform the Pro about the finished goal, listen to their thoughts, if any, then stand back and let them do it. The immature boss will start telling the pro the technique he should use. The pro is thinking "Kid, I know 5 or 6 ways of how we might do this, and once I start, I might even come up with even a better way" "Kid, do me a favor and starting thinking about how you are going to get me a lunch and something cool to drink while I get this job done." Great job filming DP, it is like we are right there working the levers with you.

I'm always impressed with Jerry's skill. But what really impressed me today was you flying a drone with one hand, and using a GoPro with the other.

That was amazing, I cannot imagine any other way two guys would get that volume of material moved so far with the equipment they used. Well done and Jerry really seems to know that sometimes to get done quicker you have to slow down. He has the needed patience to work smart.

In the 70's I operated machinery for a company who's method of training was "This is how to start it, now get to work." I wish I had someone like Jerry to have shared his wisdom with me on how do do it right! There sure would have been a lot less radio traffic about getting machinery repaired or unstuck! 😁

Man this is so cool to watch. I’ve always wanted to try this with the slop we get up here in Vancouver Canada but typically there isn’t enough room to push all the mud to stack it out of the way so you wind up loading it all out. Thanks DP & Jerry!

Jerry looks like he is going to bury that dozer and then back out he goes. Watching people with experience is such a great thing to be able to do. Amazing overhead video DP. And GREAT job Jerry!

I used to clear swamps for international airports. I used a D6R LGP for most of it. I did nearly the same thing Jerry did. Walled good material and pushed the wall along bit by bit. Saved many a turtle and snake by making little pockets for them to escape out of. I would typically leave a wet trench to parts of the swamp that would remain. The snakes, fish, and turtles would use them like highways to wiggle along to the deeper swamp areas. Wish I had a smart phone back then to record it all. Lol

Mike, the drone footage is great. It really gave the perfect perspective on a job like this. My hat is off to you guys for the plan you made. You guys moved a huge amount of material in a very short period of time. Of course the material being soupy helped with that but again the trench idea was brilliant.

I usually get bored watching dozer work because it is slow and tedious. But I really enjoyed this one. The drone shots showing the progress and the time lapses with the explanations were interesting. I have not nor will I ever have an opportunity to put your expertise to use, but it gives me more respect for what is put into the types of jobs that you do. Thank you.

This was an incredible education, Mike. I've watched Chris clean countless ponds with an excavator. In his case he didn't have the luxury of draining them first. Watching how Jerry 'nibbled' at the mud, pushing it toward your spillway, I suddenly saw the 'Big Picture.' Thank You for today's lesson!!

That is some of the best dozer work I have seen in a long time. Jerry is masterful with that machine.

I would like to see more of Jerry's blade control, how fast he bumps the stick. He's really smooth out there.

No doubt about it, you guys nailed that plan, that mud didn’t even begin to put up a fight. I can see a new custom attachment for the excavator in the future if you’re going to do more and more ponds: an 8’ blade, about 2’ tall on a rotator so you can literally reach out and scrape mud allthe way towards the channel, past you, and down the channel all in one swing.

Neat technique and very efficient. Where I’m located it seems most stock tanks are in the lowest area and usually don’t have a dam and if it does we can’t push downhill it’s usually uphill. I do like how this one worked out very cool!
