How´s velo raid boots selling? Like hotcakes? Have you come up solution for the buckles? I am asking because that is the best boots for my riding style and preference. I liked them a lot. I was extremely disapointed when i had to return mine after sixth buckle broke and my vendor didn´t have any more spares..! It wasn't for lack of trying to baby those fragile buckles. Only one broke of from external impact and the others simply disingrated by opening them.
@@BDarling33 Appreciate your patience along with everyone else waiting. COVID really put a hit in our production flow and unfortunately when you build a new helmet from the ground up there is a lot of added details that take time. They have been shipping over the last month and more are arriving everyday. Thanks again for your support and we hope you are stoked on yours when it arrives! We put a TON of time into building our own shell and are very pumped for the consumers to get their hands on it!
So many people are afraid to ride because of the cold here in New England. Proper layering and good outerwear can make all the difference. Ride anywhere from -10 to 45 degrees and be comfortable if you know how to dress!
Talking about gloves, last year i rode spring only, with bicicle gloves, it fing sucked, so this year i bought fly racing, essentialy the thinnest gloves
On the boots, I use Carhartt 1000g steel toe work boot, not an ordinary choice but very supportive, comfortable, tough, and not as heavy as you would think
I have a full 509 kit this year and the two items that stand out the most are the new R- MOR vest which is a necessity for me. Personally my favorite protector. I also have kingpin gogs with the polarized yellow and they are hard to fog up. 509 really did a great job with this years gear and I can’t wait to see what they come out with next year. Also sick vid as always🔥
Definitely a one piece non insulated. You can always add more layers under the suit, but in the spring you can't take out insulation. I dont like snow up the back either.
Awesome video! I’ve switched to merino wool and it’s much better. No cotton is right! I really like my CKX titan carbon helmet it works for me. At least 2 sets of goggles is key. I prefer heated for when they do get a little fogged up.
Wool everything, darn tough wool socks.. Sitka pants with the knee pads under my klim bibs are so awesome. Saves the knees .. altitude helmet.. bunch of ways to make fires and a jar of essential Herbs ✌ I love your new Lynx boondocker man what a next level machine.. I think my wife needs one let me know when we can get them in the US? Ride on brother 🤘
That stoke one piece is my favorite out there. I've owned and destroyed lots of other brands. Tuck that face mask on the merino hoodie behind your neck. Everything you said is on point!
My wife bought me an insulated fxr mono, the one with F.A.S.T. way too hot for real riding, unless it's below zero Fahrenheit it's exhausting. Go uninsulated for sure
Thanks for the vid. 2 things... 1.Coming from the east to Alpine next week, I bought all new uninsulated per your advice... but....also was talked into a mid layer. Do you ever use a mid layer, or was I had? I’ll take it along, but with temps forecasted in the 40’s, I think a heat stroke was for certain with insulated stuff (as you mentioned in a previous comment) 2. Boots. Oh sledding boots- what a miss. Coming from a background in MX, I was shocked to find such unsupportive boots. Come on, give us some insulated mx style boots... buckles and all! Insulated astar tech 10s anyone??? Lol
I want the exact boots you speak of! I don’t typically use a mid layer, my protective vest kind of doubles as that, but depending on conditions sometimes it’s nice to have!
@@Rossxr thanks for the reply. I run asterisks cells so I’m covered on the lower half (short of crap boots), but even with mx I run naked on the top. Gotta get that figured out with sledding. As for boots, if one company... even a boot only company, made a mx style insulated they’d have a lot of buyers. Backcountry sledding is only growing... and here is a hole in the gear lineup. I have a fist full of cash for the first producer....
@@boondockersaint6199 I have not. Perhaps I’ll look into it. Depending on my baggage weight, I may take some moto boots this week.... supposed to be in the high 30’s, so cold-ness shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Ross, can u make a vid talking about the slednecks brand. The best riders in the industry got their start there. I find it strange none of the athletes out of 19 movies have ever adreesed it. Thanks...... huge fan
why is this lie about cotton still going on. I am 59 years old and have I had clothes frozen yes. However this concept of wearing 700 dollars worth of clothing for a short day? come on dude. YOU LIED. thumbs down for stupid lie about cotton. Wear what keeps you warm and be ready to change. But unless you are giving away hundreds of dollars of clothing, you go naked and ask for cotton.
