The other night we talked about what a character and vibrant personality @richard.paterson was. Well here he is in all his glory, teaching us the proper way to drink whisky. This event was hosted by @craigbridger at @holidaywinecellar.
His big thing about keeping it in your mouth for 20-30 seconds really works. We used it during the event for all our tastings. After about 5-10 seconds bringing it to the roof of our mouth, on the tongue, under the tongue, and nearly everything else but gargling it, it brought out the strong chocolate orange, cinnamon, and spice in the whisky. It would have been much more difficult to actually pick these out without that method.
So in conclusion, you better do what he says or else he’ll poke your eyes out and slap you in the back of the head!
