It was recently brought to my attention that at 3:02 I referred to other riders as thugs. This is simply not the case. Listen carefully and you can hear me clearly saying "folks." If you haven't already noticed this is a clean channel. Also, "folks" is a term I use often on my channel. I have to admit, playing the video back it did sound similar to the word thugs, but if you pay close attention you can hear the sound "ks" at the end of the word, confirming that I in fact said folks. I remember filming this video like it was yesterday and I know what I said. Also my accent can be hard at times, causing the words that I'm saying to sound a bit different than what you're used to. I'm making it clear now to everyone that I did not say thugs. I'm surprised that someone would consider I would say that considering my reputation on this channel has always been to keep things clean and enjoyable for all walks of life. I'm not upset that someone would point this out, however, I'm a bit disappointed that they would think that I would call fellow riders thugs on this channel, I don't stand for that, and I hope you don't either.
Bro he’s doing it wrong u can’t just shift up with out using the clutch because that’s to much things to do n if u want to race ppl n beat them just shift up with out the clutch or just not us the clutch to shift Ight everything else is good👍🏼
Thank you so much for this! I have a Yamaha Kodiak and no one to teach me. This is the best video I've seen. You keep it super simple, add in the noises and vibrations you need to look out for. 100% newbie here and I understood this.
I'm sorry to hear that brother... I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. I'll tell you what, anytime you ever have questions, don't ever hesitate to ask me! Also you can DM me on Instagram at QUADNATION 929 or QUADNATION UNIVERSE. I'll be here if you need me.
Right now im fine i know how to because of him now i am 15 but i crashed when i was 10 and yes i said 10 i did have a 700 idk why a 700 but i did now i have a new 700 a 2020 700 raptor
Ever since I started four wheeling, my Father has been telling me that I need to know how to drive Clutch and this was mad helpful! Thank you so much for the tips!
Great video. Loved how yu explained it how the bike is moving versus the sound of it. Had a lot of my friends try to explain it with the bogging and whiskey throttle sound but as a new rider I didn’t recognize the sounds as easy, this is easy for a less experienced rider for sure
After years of giving up learning how to ride a dirt bike at 17. Watched this video and it gave me confidence to give my buddy's Honda XR 400cc a test drive yesterday at age thirty-two. I successfully was able to start and took it for a ride in the park no injuries was too excited now I'm looking to buy my own bike. I'm gonna give it another go focusing on shifting to higher gears and back down as well as when to brake after the clush or before... Watching this video really helped me alot.
Awesome!!! See you're never too late to conquer something as long as you have the will! I'm glad I was able to help you and I hope it's only getting easier and easier for you! Have fun riding and be safe! 🤘😎
Thank you so much. After watching and rewatching I finally get it. Today will be the day I will get on my dad’s raptor and finally shift gears up. He told me I was good when I first got on since I learned so much from your video.
Thanks brother! I appreciate you!!! If you follow this video it'll turn out to be much easier than what you think. Rest assured buddy you'll get this 👍
Very nice video! Road my first quad today and I didn’t notice you can be in 1st gear and slowly letting go the clutch and still move. I kept giving it throttle which gave me a jumpy start! But overall it was really fun and now I know! Thank you! 👊
You made my night! 😂 In fact I had to look back on the video and see for myself.. Lol. It was pretty smooth 😉 I appreciate the kind words! 🤘 Stay tuned and I promise I won't let you down!
If you watch my video trx450 vs raptor vs trx700 has the Purge at the beginning of the video and a cool intro implementing the Purge scenario where your immune to law enforcement while riding quads for 12 hours 🤙
Just bought a 2003 660 raptor with big bored and all that. First ‘fast’ quad ever, needed to learn, this seems like a good video! I can’t wait to drive her
Thank you for the lesson. I just bought my first atv Kawasaki KFX 400 and it’s tricky the first time. Good advice. Now I got to go to a open field to learn. Will be my first time to use a atv.
Awesome congratulations man! Also welcome to the sport! 👍 I'm glad this video was able to help you and I wish you the best of luck! Now go have tons of fun and be safe 🤘
I recently just got my licences and my dad has a fourwheeler. So i been wanting to ride it but i didnt know how cause i grew up with a fourwheeler without a cluch but gears or just a plan automatic. But now i have a understanding on how to drive a manual fourwheeler. Thanks :D
thanks for this it was actually really nice to learn i have drove cars truck and other fourwheelers but never a manual one and i started out on a 300ex with a pretty much toast clutch which is good because im using it to learn so i dont burn a new one but ive got it down pat other than down shifting
Thank you a lot for you help we’re going camping this weekend and I’ve had my quad for like 3 years and my anxiety gets so bad that I don’t ever like to ride it. This video helped A LOT thank you so much I never new it was that easy.
Thanks man 🙏 . My dad got a racing yfz 450( from a trade) that was once clocked at 116 mph and wouldn’t teach me because it’s too fast( I’m 14 btw) I found your video very helpful and I’m about to try the quad out.( wish me luck)
When driving you guys do not have to ease off the clutch you can just let it go once you’re in gear! Great video *haven’t ridden a manual quad since I was 9 so this was a great refresher for me buying my first toy at 17 a KFX400*
Dude I literally rode for the first time yesterday using YOUR INSTRUCTIONS! Im obsessed now!!! Sharing your video to all my friends who wanna learn! Including one of my sons! Thank u so much for this 💯
Great way to teach starting in first! Have used the method many times when teaching new riders. If not they wanna rev the piss out of it let the clutch fly out.
GREAT VIDEO‼️ just rode a quad for the first time today and i was struggling a little bit but this video will definitely help me do better next time thank u‼️
Great explanation! I will now keep my rappy in neutral when starting. Now just curious, does the same concept of starting off on 1st gear apply to a modified one? The one I just bought has a full exhaust and a EFI tuner. I was taught to always give a tad bit of throttle when starting out in 1st gear.
What I was demonstrating here was best way possible to learn how to take off without stalling or burning the clutch however once you become a more experienced rider and more confident releasing the clutch while increasing the throttle is the ideal way to take off. But until you understand the mechanics of the bike it's often difficult to tell people how to do that without them either stalling all the time or reving too high and burning your clutch. So if you've already got the hang of it and you feel more confident by all means give it a little bit of throttle while releasing the clutch.
Just got my first quad yesterday I was having problems with clutch but I will try again today and I saved ur video so I can go over it again before riding thanks for the vid
awesome video my man, my girlfriend is a country girl and im a big city boy and was embarassed the last time i visited her family because I had no idea how to safely drive one of these things... seriously great instructions and demonstrations
@@vydeee2516 in most cases you want to start out in first only, if you let go of the clutch in second or third most of time it'll stall and if it doesn't, it'll burn the clutch unless you're racing, if you're racing you can rev up the engine and dump the clutch in 2nd which is okay but only if your racing... I'll have a more advanced video soon coming out regarding this stuff.
This was really helpful when I first started to learn but I think you should let people know that not every quad just takes off when you let go of the clutch without giving it gas
Thank you! Glad I was able to help! I mentioned in the video that depending on the amount of torque that the engine delivers will determine whether it can take off like that or not.
You just made me LMAO 🤣 That's so awesome to have such great feedback! Thanks brother! 🤘 I'm glad I was able to help you brother! Have fun riding and be safe 👍
Thank you for the kind words... If you're interested in a more advanced riding video I'll have that on the channel around the start of the new year. In the meantime be safe and have fun riding!
I've shifted down gears without a clutch my whole life and never ran into a problem, your luck may vary but I'm gonna continue to do this knowing eventually I'll need to replace the clutch no matter what.
So it's all about timing and if you are experienced enough to shift without a clutch without grinding the gears then by all means I see no reason why you should shift any differently.
i just got a 2022 raptor 700r yesterday. i did a 2 hours ride, but it was not easy. first time i ride a manual atv. it is especially the neutral who gave me a hard time. i had lot of trouble finding it. i read my owner manual and your video confirm what is said in the manual. tomorrow i will practice what i learned. i will also soften the suspension. they also over inflated the tires. the ride is very hard. i spent many hours looking for how to operate a raptor 700r, what is correct tire pressure, and how to adjust suspension and handlebars. i love this atv. i had a 2021 sportsman 1000xp and i much prefer the raptor.
Awesome! Glad I was able to help! I love the XP but the Raptor is definitely my favorite. Always has been! Now I really do love this new 450 I'm bringing to the channel but only time will tell.
It's best just to release the clutch quickly as possible basically just by releasing it in such a way that it snaps back to its resting position. This will prevent the clutch from burning which will occur if you release the clutch slowly.
It's probably still in gear which will prevent it from turning on so rock the quad forward and back a little bit while pressing the gear shifter down in order to place it back into neutral. Once in neutral try starting it up again. If this doesn't work let me know and we'll keep brain storming 👍
@@ivantorres8322 awesome! I'm so happy I was able to help you out! That's why I created this channel to help folks and to bring them some awesome entertainment! 🤘
@@miguelarvizu8864 It is best to turn them off in neutral so that way you don't accidentally start it up in gear. But most quads also have a safety switch which will prevent them from starting in gear unless your clutch is disengaged.
I’d never ridden a quad before today and I decided this day was the day that I took that hard earned money and got my dream machine...a banshee. Greatest thing I’ve owned to date. This tutorial is helping me get along a little smoother but releasing the clutch without gas isn’t cutting it. My bike needs a little throttle love to get going.
Awesome congratulations on your new quad! Also welcome to the sport! The banshee is one of my favorite quads in fact I believe that's going to be my next buy for the channel. Banshees lack that lower end torque that those high performance four strokes have so in most cases you do have to motivate the engine a little with a little bit of throttle. It's awesome to hear that this tutorial helped you along! Thank you for your support! Have fun riding and be safe!
Watching this video a bit late but I heard it’s very good and it is and i am getting a new bike very soon and I have been scared since it has a clutch and I’ve never had my own bike with a clutch and im not that used to it but this gave me confidence im getting a Yamaha blaster 200 but I do have some experience of driving a quad with clutch since I’ve driven my aunts rapter 660 but that was a while ago but this video has given me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to drive that bike
I apologize for not seeing this until now but no the only time you release the clutch slowly is when you're taking off so that way you don't flip back. Once you're shifting into any other gear you can pop the clutch out or release it quickly.
Yes, that's called cruising and you can stay in that gear as long as you want or as long as the engine allows. If the engine starts to struggle then it would probably be a good time to shift down.
@@JoelAlvarez-wy3rr really you can stay in any gear as long as you want as long as you're not lugging the engine or over revving. Typically though people will go into final gear and remain in that one longer than most other gears simply because usually in order to get up to a nice cruising speed you're going to be in one of the higher gears which is usually 4th or 5th, or 6th if you have a 6-speed gear case.
@@jesusochoa684 okay I understand now. So what you're saying is when you press the throttle, sometimes it doesn't return to it's original position. This can be caused by a few different things but commonly it's either a throttle cable that needs to be lubricated or replaced or it could be a sticky throttle slide inside the carburetor. Check those two things out first and then go from there.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL thank you for the simple yet effective I've watched so many videos of you just do this that and your ready to go with no good visual and terrible audio so again sir thank you and keep the videos coming
Great tutorial. I feel im ready to ride now. I drove my cousins honda atv but it was my first time and i was shifting right but with this i think i got now
i have a 2007 suzuki ltr 450 and i didnt know that you had to let go of the clutch slowly, i always gave it gas and then let go my clutch slowly, im going to try the way you taught in this video. thanks
