Learn how to drive an automatic car step by step with Veluxity in this tutorial. Driving an automatic car is easy for beginners by applying the right techniques. The automatic transmission differs from the manual transmission because there is no clutch or stick shift present. By simply applying the brake you can use the automatic gear selector to put the car in drive. By the end of this tutorial we’re confident you’ll find automatic car driving that much easier.

Just got my permit and I must say I've been searching non stop of videos for how to drive a car and this video sure did help me a bit I've always been afraid of a fear I've had inside me since I was a little girl of getting behind a wheel I've gotten over that fear. Went for my permit passed and now it's time to drive this vendors is 100% perfect thank you

how do you pass without driving lessons??? Most people I know need at least 45 hours worth of driving lessons?
@184rama

seraphiccandy21 Said passed her permit, most places have you just take a written test
@seraphiccandy21
@seraphiccandy21 7 лет назад
Yeah I know...for the theory part right? But you need to take lessons for the practical part...
@ninjakat8922
@ninjakat8922 7 лет назад
only written test for a permit and then you can get in a car and drive around because you are a "learner"? I guess that's the reason the US has so many bad drivers...

seraphiccandy21 Usually your parents/guardians teach you to drive instead of lessons.

you forgot to set the parking brake before shifting to parking position, that is very important when the transmission is automatic.
@godlucktesha2676

how can you set parking break
@TheLittlecookiestar
@TheLittlecookiestar 7 лет назад
the brake behind the thing that switches from drive to park etc, you pull it up so the car doesn't move when you're parking :)
@godlucktesha2676
@godlucktesha2676 7 лет назад
K ie that if you want to park yuo pull it ? Or you set it neutral first
@godlucktesha2676
@godlucktesha2676 7 лет назад
and gear it change it self automatic at any speed?, if is yes how it realize that here is mountain & there is a slope
@TheLittlecookiestar
@TheLittlecookiestar 7 лет назад
you put your car on park, then pull it up, it just prevents the car from moving. any automatic car already knows how to change speeds by itself no matter where you are! so don't worry!

How about the small details like the gear "S". I know that it is basic, but I only know cars with a manual transmission.

Great teaching tool. An observation one of my students pointed out was that you never mentioned putting your seat belt. I believe that you were wearing it during the shooting of the video & it seems like a moot point if one is going to drive. Just thought I'd point that out to you. Thanks again Verity.

Is it possible to drive an automatic so the gears don't shift low and the engine revs like crazy? Is that something you get to know after driving an automatic for a while? It's kinda annoying when it revs like mad when I just want to go a little faster. It sounds like dropping down to second going 40mph. I much prefer the control of a manual tbh.

I'm a manual driver... I've only ever driven an automatic once and the experience was shitty... I find that the brakes on auto cars are quite sensitive and wen getting in and out of tricky spots its alot harder to control the speed you moving... Does any one have any suggestions as I am looking at getting a automatic transmission vehicle in the near future

something's missing. there was no hand brake applied before he put to D. upon reaching the red light, move the stick to N. staying on D means consuming more gas.
@ChillyNuts4u
@ChillyNuts4u 5 лет назад
Cars use 0.3 gallons per hour whilst idled at lights whilst in drive. You may be at lights for 30 seconds so thats 0.00025 gallons during that stop time. You'd rather wear and tear your gearbox over that tiny amouny?
@ZulfiqarAli-kh2og
@ZulfiqarAli-kh2og Год назад
My question is when to operate the hand brake. Be comfortable, foot on the brake, start the engine, gear lever in D, depress the hand brake and drive. When Parking. complete stop the car, foot on the brake, shift gear to P, pull the hand brake, switch off. Am I correct

distance 1 car away for every 10mph??? Why the f you americans havre to overcomplicate everything? The rule is to have 2 seconds distance AT LEAST from the front car at all times, because stopping fully usually takes around 2 seconds..
