I suppose one big disadvantage of drop shipping a private label product is, as you say in your video, you can't modify your product to give you an edge over your competitor. I think another disadvantage is that your shipping times to the customer are much longer when drop shipping compared to FBA. Great content!

By dropshipping, you get the manufacturer to deliver each order to the buyer with provided address by you. Is that right? This will take ages (assuming item is coming from China). Customers wouldn't like it and prefer to buy from a local seller. Am I missing something?

You are the one who purchases a product and ship it to the customer. Of course, you can try to do it through manufacturer, but as you said, it will take a bit longer than, for example, FBA shipping ^PW

If we order from Alibaba or aliexpress, it will take more time to reach to the customers. Normally amazon want us to ship within 3 days so does it effect our ranking or can we get a penalty?

It is possible, which is why you need to review and confirm this with your supplier when shipping the products. The most important requirement by Amazon for dropshipping is that you must be identified as the seller on all invoices, packing slips, external packaging, and any other information included or provided with the product. Hi JS, was just looking at the current drop ship model on Amz. 3 quick questions, 1. why not sell on other people’s listing that already have proven traffic and is not branded (potential to win the buy box)? 2. Once I get the order, should I go to ‘Manage order’ and look for the person’s purchase and find their address? 3. If they refunded the item, should I tell them to ship it back to the manufacture’s address and get a refund from them? Thanks a lot guys!!!!

1.) That will get your seller account suspended 😳 2.) Correct, that's what you would do once you get your order! 3.) If you're doing the FBM model then yes. If you're doing the FBA model, Amazon would refund them for you. -SR

Hi Jungle Scout, Isn't shipping time with Aliexpress a problem? Wouldn't take way too long for the product to get to the customer? Wouldn't the customer change his/her mind and not purchase the product when he/she sees the shipping time? Thank you

Honestly AliExpress and Alibaba are so Outdated now because of the shipping times. I don’t know why every platform boasts for these platforms (unless you’re bulk ordering and fulfilling them with Amazon and setting up your business) but you are better off finding a supplier in the USA that does dropshipping as you will be competing with shipping times. Why would you wait 3 weeks for something when there are a thousand other listings that could be received in 2-3 days. You have to catch the person right then and there with their intent to purchase. Not form a relationship with them and hope they decide on your product.

I am interested in this, but it's still so confusing to me. Let me get this straight--first I have to contact suppliers on aliexpress to see if they do dropshipping, then when I find one that does, then I can list on amazon, then when the product sell, I contact the supplier via email and give them the address and product to ship? Is that right? Or do I place an order just like I would when I am buying something for myself, but change the shipping address? That's what's so confusing to me. I've watched tons of videos and nobody explains that part exactly.

This may sound stupid, but how does drop shipping even work. Like how does the buyer get their product in a short amount of time if it has to go through shipping to amazon fulfillment center and also shipping to the home. Hi Julia! Yes, when an order is placed, you would enter in your customer's name and address and AliExpress will take care of the rest. There are software programs out there, though, that can automate this for you. Just be sure to check whether it will work for Amazon! 🙌

Hi Totey! Thanks for being a loyal JS fan! 😉 You can open an LLC without making any revenue. You won't be responsible for any taxes or fees in the US. You can sell private label items as a sole proprietor! However, an LLC protects you against any liability! 😉 -SR

i opened an LLC 2 years ago before i even knew what to do with it. im learnig the LLC can be used to open a professional amazon ssller account which allows more functions than an individual account, such as creating campaign ads, which is crucial for provate labeled products..also some suppliers require an LLC / seller permit to do business with them.

I'm just going to mention that you're likely very mistaken about Aliexpress. It's often used as a retail site and even the mobile app is billed similarly to apps like Banggood and Gearbest. So I'd say avoid sourcing from Aliexpress as it's possible Amazon see it as a retail site and not a sourcing site

Yes, dropshipping is a business model like Private Label or wholesale whereas FBA and FBM are fulfillment methods. Think of the business models as where/how you get the items to sell and the fulfillment method as who holds the inventory, packages and ships to the end customer. So you would use FBM when doing dropshipping. Hope this helps! 😄^PW

As you set the competition level to low and clicked on a product in the jungle scout web app then why the same product niche is showing high demand and high competition on opportunity finder in the jungle scout chrome extension?

The Opportunity Score in Extension is based off all the products in the search results. So if you load 3 pages of products, we calculate Opportunity Score based on all 3 pages 😃 Niche Score, on the other hand, is based only on the top products that make up that Niche. Sometimes it’s up to 10 products and sometimes it’s only 3-4 products 😃 - LJ

In short, no. You do not need an LLC to sell on Amazon. You can start selling immediately under your name as a sole proprietor.

It is not required to sign up for the Amazon Brand Registry before you can use FBA.. Are you being asked for this while creating your shipment? Regarding the suppliers, you can ask why they need to check your listing first. They might want to know what it looks like exactly.

If you sell a private-label or handmade product, you may be eligible for what’s called a GTIN exemption, meaning you do not need a UPC to list the product on Amazon. Otherwise, Amazon now requires all listed products without the Amazon GTIN exemption to have a GS1 registered barcode. GS1 stands for Global Standards 1 and is a not-for-profit organization that develops and maintains global standards for business communication. In simpler terms, GS1 is the only legitimate place to purchase a UPC code to use on Amazon. I hope this helps 😃 - LJ

Can I do drop shipping by purchasing product from supplier and the inventory will be stored by supplier and later when i get order from customer, I will deliver product directly to customer from Supplier. I mean inventory will be stored by Supplier. Is this possible?

We don't recommend purchasing your inventory before an order is made by a customer. Just be sure your supplier is able to fulfill the orders as they come in from the customers. Hope this helps! -AL

Yes, you can put your company name, logo, and invoice details on the delivery box when dropshipping on Amazon. However, you cannot use Amazon's logo or name on the package. The invoice should also show your company information, not Amazon's. Just make sure to follow Amazon's policies and guidelines when doing this to avoid any issues.

It seems like Amazon is continuously going to crack down harder and harder on anybody they feel is violating their drop shipping policy. After reducing commissions a couple of months ago. ! It seems they are doing their best to purge dropshippers.

Software is avenge. Customer service is below average, don't bother calling. and they take 2-3 days to reply by email. Don't bother requesting a full refund, they'll offer you a partial if you're lucky. BE AWARE!

Listen everyone I purchased their most popular monthly subscription for product research, i am disappointed. You will never find any products and i am paying 69 dollar per month . There isn’t enough product and information to select products from Canada. They one they are showing here might be the highest price subscription service which is more expensive. I didn’t find it helpful for product research.
