Can't tell you enough how much I appreciate a how-to video that doesn't have voice over, a talking head, or a babbling host when all I want is "just show me how to do it."
Thank you very much for putting together this video! This will come in very handy in the future. Looking forward to the next video! Always a thumbs up from me!
Hi Andy. The silicone can tolerate high temps. Thanks for watching! Be sure to watch my "Locksmith" video playlist below and share. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6JmUnO1XYOk.html
Thank you for this video! The one thing I understand is what you meant by preheating the mold to 450 - 475 degrees when using the first method. Do I put the mold in the oven and then put it back int the medicine bottle when it’s heated before pouring the metal? Could you please clarify?
If preheated for a better flow, you need to heat the mold. Polypropylene medicine bottles cannot tolerate 450F, so I suggest you use a small aluminum bottle.
@@electronicsNmore Thanks. I noticed that you said to preheat the mold, but then it was placed back into the room temp medicine bottle when you poured the metal. Will that work, or will it melt the plastic if I place just the warm silicon mold into the bottle? It's a bit unclear how the warm mold gets placed back into the bottle before pouring the metal.
Wow...never would have thought of that...i always just have a new key cut..but this was good to know and see..thanks again.. Keep up with you're videos Cheers 🍻🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi, I have been going nuts trying to find the casting "molds" as seen on other videos. Your first method is one way around it, it does require more silicone but.....
Hi Tom. The silicone works great, and as long as you don't melt down a metal that's really high in temp, you can re-use the mold. Thanks for watching! Check out my "Locksmith & Bypass Tools" video playlist below and share. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6JmUnO1XYOk.html
Hi it's me again. I like your methods as I've said, but I'm curious; have you been able to find the "molds" as seen on other videos? I have been looking on-and-off for about two weeks and I cannot find any. I find after diligent searching, metals, molding silicone trays for making premeasured amounts of metal, ladles, etc but NOT the molds. If you have encountered any in your travels I would like to know where. Thanks.
Can you please tell me why you cut a hole in the bottom of the medicine bottle and covered it with tape before pouring the silicon mixture, what is the purpose of doing both? Thank you!
so a couple things, when I poured the tin the first time with the sander the tin splashed everywhere. I tried something with less vibration and the mold did not fill completely it went all the way to the bottom but did not fill the half with the teeth. any tips? also I got flux from Home Depot, just the flux paste
Hey. Thanks for the great content!! Do you recommend this copying method or the one you've uploadeded 4 years ago? Or does it depend on which key you want to copy? Please clarify ☝️❤️👍
@@electronicsNmore two more questions if it's ok. 1. I do not understand the part with preheating the mold to 230 deg celsius?? Can the container withstand such temperatures? am I getting sth wrong here? 2. How do you messure howmuch tin you need? weigh the originalkey plus a bit? thanks in advance!
@@electronicsNmore Hey. could you please clarify. Is the plastic of the pill container capable of withstanding the 230 Deg Fahrenheit? What could I use instead?
@@electronicsNmore That's true, it's illegal to copy a key that isn't your own. However, there are no specific laws stating that DND keys are illegal to copy. It just adds a bit more protection because people think they cant do it. The only circumstances you cant copy a DND key is if its part of a master key system, part of a patented/restricted key control system, or if the key technician suspects wrongful intent.

Wow, impressed! What kind of metal did you use? The link that you shared is not available anymore. It would be great if you share with me the name or another link. Thank you 😊
also I bought the jb weld 2 part epoxy syringe. the one with the connected plunger? I should mix those together in a completely different syringe correct?
ok i cant believe im admitting to this but.........i already know im a total dork so it matters little.... i got to the music toward the end and somehow it gave me a weird emotional response. so i listened again and i kinda "knew it already" , lol omfg you ready? i realized its a slowed down version of ....... the *^!@$)(*& HE-MAN THEME SONG! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7yeA7a0uS3A.html JUST A REMINDER HOW IN DEPTH THE IMPACT OF TV CAN BE ON KIDS AS I AM NOW 45, AND THAT SHIT HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS LOL

The music that started playing sounded like a light piano version of the He-Man theme. Considering you own a key cutting machine, what's to stop you from simply cutting your own copy?

I see you taped a hole in the bottom of the container. Were you just patching it up from a different project? Does the hole in the bottom of the container serve a purpose?
Hi, I have an old suitcase, but have lost the key. Is there a way to inject silicone into the lock and get a copy that I could use to file down a new key>
Which epoxy do you recommend? I've tried searching for "low viscosity high strength two part epoxy" and "low viscosity hard curing resin" as you recommended however could not find anything

We deal with high security locks that have "do not duplicate" on them. One of my co-workers said he could get them copied, you just have to sign some waiver. I always figured you could just cover up the part of the key with silicon, epoxy or even a 3d printed piece of plastic to hide the "do not duplicate" and just make it look like a grip or decoration for the key. if you can get a blank you could also file it yourself. Still cool demo!

That's a great idea. Yes, Pewter is 4-5x harder than tin alone. The tin key is just fine, but you need to store it properly so you don't damage it. Thanks for watching!
How long will the epoxy key last? Is this the best method for duplicating keys. I have a lot of properties and am looking for an easy method to duplicate keys. Key cutting machines seem way too complicated with all the different styles of blanks. Would a 3d printer be a better option. Which method will produce the strongest keys?
Would be a much better video if you actually narrated during the process. I don't understand why people think quiet non-verbal instruction videos are better than narrated. You could have explained a lot of what your thinking process was while you were going along (over dubbed the narration after trimming the video). You could have explained some things like... 1) - How did you calculate the amount of liquid latex to use to get the exact fill of your mold? 2) - Have you ever tried using a release (oil or talc) to line the mold to make the latex remove easier so you don't have to destroy the mold to get it out? 3) - What type of metal ingot did you use? etc... Seems especially uncomfortable every time you point to something like we're supposed to be noticing something specific... but no narration to actually explain. There's tons of similar videos out there where the creators actually talk about what their showing. Good luck with your channel. Just something to consider. I personally am turned off by non-verbal instruction videos, so I won't be subscribing.
I guess you haven't watched too many of my videos. 98% of them are extremely well explained. I'm well known for how well my videos are explained and easy to follow. There are countless videos on YT that get MILLIONS of views without speaking, so once in a while I like to take a break and make one. There was no calculation. I measured the amount by eye, and threw away the excess. You don't use oil with the supplies I used. In the video I said I used Tin. Thanks for watching
LOL! It's a nice video but you call that cheap??? You can probably cut 4 keys with the price you bought the silicone for. Maybe same or similar cost to get the epoxy glue comparing to cutting the the key.
Oh, you're one of those people that believes in withholding useful information from the public because you're more concerned about some Degenerate that may misuse the info. Good to know.....:-)
@@electronicsNmore Hello Doug. I think it boils down to,people who don't want to know just how easy it is to break into these locks. Both Crooks and people who live in the lefts delusional world. Has for myself I like to know these things has it adds another layer of knowledge to my defense's.
Or jus take it somewhere to have it duplicated,I've simply done that before. No offence, but your way seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Why wouldn't anywhere duplicate?Yep too much $$$ and work your way
I guess you never owned a very expensive high security lock. You just don't walk into any store to have it copied. There's a process, and it's expensive. The last thing I want to do is spend a lot of money on a "hide-a-key".
