Came here to look for tips when my metal rod wouldn't slip onto the second bolt on the second set of legs. The comments didn't disappoint! I ended up connecting the legs in the opposite order of what the instructions say to do. For anybody having issues like I did, here's what you do: attach and screw in the left leg finger tight first (the side without the crank), then connect the rod to that side. Get the right legs in position, put the crank on, and get the rod lined up. Then very slowly turn the crank a tiny bit while pushing the leg toward the metal rod or pushing the rod toward the leg, until the rod slips on the bolt inside the right leg. It's hexagonal so the sides have to match up or it won't slide on. Screw in your right legs, tighten the left, and you're all good.

On the assembly of the table center rod. To make the center rod assembly easier, take the crank and insert it in its mating part. Turn the crank counter-clockwise and apply some force to break free the pin in the leg. Turn the crank clockwise to bring the leg back down. Take a 10 mm hexagon socket wrench and break free the pin in the other leg. Then insert the center rod in the leg without the crank assembly. Use some of the packing material under the center rod to help stabilize it and line it up with the pin in the crank assembly. You may need to turn the crank slightly to get the rod to go into the pin. With the pins freed up, the pins turn easily. Use a phillips screwdriver when installing the screws and do not tighten the screws completely down to allow for some movement of the parts. Some of the holes have paint in them. More pressure will be needed to clean the paint out.
@Jeremy2020
@Jeremy2020 2 года назад
Thank you. I assembled the desk and the height adjust wouldn't budge with a lot of pressure on it. I took it apart and found the left leg (opposite the crank) wouldn't move. I tried a wrench, but never considered a socket wrench. That fixed it and saved me from the home depot customer support nightmare.
@ljmooredesigns3076

This post was a life saver. I used the 10mm socket wrench to unlock the rotating mechanism inside each leg. Be sure to turn in the right direction. You will hear a pop and then the hex head will rotate. I also had to attach the rod from the opposite end and then gently turn the crank until the rod slid into place. Everything else assembled fine.

In my view Husky is a premium product. You have an excellent instructional video on the assembly of this 62 inch worktable. I have added this one to two other worktables I have which were delivered to me already assembled. When I saw the product delivered in a box, it was not a pleasant surprise. I spent quite a long length of time unpacking the top and all the parts. Then I looked at several video until I found your par excellence presentation. It is the most carefully, and clear explanation of how to assemble the worktable. The only thing I needed my husband to help with was turing the table upright after putting it together. Being a retired educator I have a critical eye when watching instructions for any kind of assembly. Husky needs to hire you to make their videos and pay you top dollar. Thank you so very much.

Great video and tips! Extremely helpful especially with getting the middle beam that screws into the tabletop in place. Similarly the support bar (that goes either in the center or back) is a problem for me. It's too short to even screw into to the legs. @@chimpanzee2255 I did! I remember propping up the table slightly (it will be upside down during assembly) so I could use the hand crank and gently adjusted the legs. By increasing the height slightly, it will allow the back support bar to fit in place. Might take a bit of fiddling but it got there in the end. It was easy to adjust the legs back down. I measured each side and both legs were even. Haven't had an issue since. It's been 3 months and so far I'm still loving this desk. Hope this helps.

You're lucky your legs factory screw holes lined up with the predrilled holes in the table top.... took me an extra few hours to bend the crap without having to redrill the metal holes. I was also given the wrong number of machine screws and bolts. The predrilled taps threads are awful.... the leveling feet on mine weren't too level because some were tapped crooked during manufacturing.... I must have gotten a bad one... but seriously to get a 150lb box... something I needed to rent a truck to pick up, and doesn't assemble right is really annoying.

I bought husky’s 72”x24” adjustable height work bench and everything looked high quality until I almost had it fully assembled. The three long metal support beams (1 for the front side, at the top, right underneath the wooden table surface, and two for the back, with one of the two at the top, underneath the table surface, again, and the other one close to the bottom. The one at the bottom is only connected / screwed on each leg of the back side of the table.) ALL three of them ( the aforementioned support beams) are slightly bent/bowed and for that reason, they can’t be screwed to the underside of the table since they do not align properly. Anyone know what i should do? Should i try to bend them so that they align? I think they are too strong for that to be feasible. Should I talk to home depot which is where I bought the work bench? Or should I just return it? Maybe if I call Husky themselves and explain the situation they will send me the replacement metal beams? That would be ideal as I don’t feel like disassembling it, finding a way to fit it in the original packaging and then shipping it to them only to then reassemble the new one they would send me. What do you guys think? Any advice is greatly appreciated. If you need pictures or you don’t know what I mean by the three “support beams”, email me on Hamoudi.200@hotmail.com

@@BONES714 I'm having the same problem with attaching the rod (part G) to the second leg and then to screw holes don't match with the leg holes. Any suggestions? how did the rod go on the second leg so easily for you?

@@elainechilds1829 it is possible that you might have a faulty product. Id maybe contact Home Depot see if they can give you a replacement?

@@Vargoosey16 I finally got it! You’ve got to legs of the table. One with a tube thingy the crank attaches to that raises the table and one leg without the raising tube thingy. Put the rod on the leg without the raising tube thingy. Which is kind of the opposite leg the instructions say to start with. If I remember correctly. Anyway, loosely attach that leg to the table top with a couple of the screws. But don’t tighten the screws all the way so you have some give. Next, set the other leg on the table and line up the bolt and the rod and push the leg onto the rod. If it doesn’t want to go on then turn the crank handle slowly until it lines up enough to snap on. Give slight pressure on the leg as you turn the crank slowly then as the bolt and rod align properly it will come together. I hope that makes sense. But I realized that the bolt I was trying to put the rod onto was slightly turned so that the rod wouldn’t slip on it even when tapping the leg with a rubber mallet. Good luck! I hope that works for you! Let me know!

*Unfortunately, I was unable to get the bar to snap into place. It seemed it wouldn't even fit onto the screw on one side. I called customer service to see if something was wrong. I thought that I had made it work, but when I sat it upright and turned the crank, on one side was raised and I heard the bar moving inside the housing. Hahaha...so ummm, that didn't work.*😀

did you end up having to disassemble all the drawer hardward to get back to the rod to re connect it? 😳

@@jeffcook9798 The one I bought did not have drawers. Husky ended up sending me another bar . They felt that the included one may have been damaged. I have not had the chance to reassemble it yet, but I hope to fix it soon! Thanks for asking!!!
