It would help if instead of giving tips in small font in a middle of a fight the game would spill some useful info before the fight so you can actually read it.
This is the only fight I have seen in all of Fontaine where Arhke actually matters. Everything else with arkhe mechanics can just be killed without arkhe if you hit it hard enough.

Yeah I thought it should have some mechanic to defeat "the man" faster. And here it is - bring the arkhe unit and just hit at the right time. I was going crazy about this mofo since it takes so long to take him down, and him teleporting all over the place makes it really tedious to even approach and land a hit. Thank you for sharing!

Bro, i didn't know waiting and destroying the ball during the man fight would be that effective, i was fighting that guy tooth and nail, i was charging in like a mad man with an electro team, my raiden was pulling out one booba sword one after another, it took me so long. I shouldve done some research before foghting, it was so simple with neuvelette

Thanks so much for this guide man, I gave up 2 times before cause the shadow dude was immune to my hyperblooms (totaly missed the part where its a mechanic), it was suprisingly easy with your tips tho it did take 2 phases.
Thank you for this. I brought Zhongli for his shield, Ganyu for her damage (and range), Neuvillette for his pneuma (and damage) and Klee just because she’s my favorite. Cleared in just a couple of minutes and barely had to do anything except run around. 😂
this is probably one of the only few boss videos that sun wei makes that takes 10 mins not because of his skills but beause of the dyam mechanics that drag out the fight.
i was trying to fight that man without any fontainian characters i was genuinely tweaking because i couldn’t get the white bar down 💀 i swear this pneuma and ousia thing is soo annoying!!
How come when you hit the purple guy once when he is in a ball form, it beaks 1/5th of his shield. But when i try using my characters including hydro ones, it barely does any damage to the shield. I am curious what even is the Pneuma and Ousia power, as i have no idea how to even get those powers. I have not yet unlocked the domain yet so i just use “quick start” in the handbook. Do you have any idea how i can break the purple guys’s shield how it was intended to be? I dont know how to break the ball at all…. Thank you!
The Pneuma and Ousia are energy linked to Fontaine characters. Hydro Traveler counts because his powers come from the Fontaine archon statue. If you already reach ar 25, you should be able to get Lynette. She also has Pneuma, so she should be able to help you break the orb
As for now it's only the shadow that protects the whale's core (either created by the whale or its owner). But given how similar his movements are to childe's foul legacy, it might be the foul's shadow (?
the first phase when we use bow user is also important dps time because we want the battle shorter, it is so slow and easy to target on 1st phase. because when it swallow us, it took time to get out.
Thank you so much Sun Wei; this video and many others of yours help a lot! One thing I don't understand is that my Hydro Traveler Ousia/Pneuma elemental skill doesn't always succeed. I am certainly not too far; actually very close. Do I press too late, or do I have to hold the button or simply press it? Hehe still experimenting. Anyway thanks again! ... ... EDIT, after a bit more through the fight: If it can help anybody, you don't have to hold R2 at all but you must aim very precisely at the center of the sphere from not too far away with your Hydro Ousia/Pneuma elemental skill
@@francoisgaudet4498 so the Pneuma blast happens at the end of the skill, meaning if you want it immediately, you need to only press it instead of holding it. It helps to be in melee range and facing it so that the game's auto targeting will do the rest for you. There is very little reason to actually hold the skill except for additional damage

Apparently the auto-aim is not quite good in this game and a bit more useful on mobile than PC or PS5. Finally a boss I can do easily on mobile with my low gear units (started playing 3 months ago), might be one of the easiest bosses along with Stormterror. Have yet to beat some bosses solo like Raiden Shogun, her moves ask for way too fast reaction time imo
if I don't have furina, and I don't want to use traveler to take advantage of the friendship XP, which character has Arhke damage? I don't feel like the other hydro character's damage is classified as one of the two Arhke types. From Arhke wiki, it says Lynette and Chevruse's damage is Ousia type, would they work, or does it have to be hydro? Update: yes Lynnette and Chevruse both work. Just use E ability once and it is done.
I'm AR45 with level 80 characters and it took me 15 minutes average to beat this boss... LEVEL 60 and this guy, with barely built characters and low level, hydro traveler can do it in 10 minutes... Level 90 AND THE BOSS HAS 70% HYDRO RESISTANCE
for the second phase, is it only occur for 2 times? i waited him for eat me for third time, nothing happened. he just keep doing his normal attack. aint no way i cant beat his first phase, he's so huge 💀
4 minutes in before the Narwhal becomes stunned for the first time is pretty much my problem with this boss fight. Bringing a really strong team comp helps reduce the wasted time you spend on this domain, but it's not significant enough. Glad I only have to do this once a week.

@@zertbrown4642 use Furina's charged attack. Her normal attack only procs on "damage dealt" rather than "on hit". Her charged attack has no such restriction

I didnt use my hydro traveler at all, whats a uso,and numera? I fought narwhal with my usual team. But no idea what these color switch things are. I'm told furina does it but ive not built her yet.
Pneuma and ousia are the Fontaine exclusive mechanics that basically just make certain bosses easier. Hydro traveler's skill deals pneuma, which is that blast of white/yellow light after the hydro shot.
@@ARJIWNL yes, including Hydro Traveler. All Fontaine characters and Hydro Traveler, except Furina, have either Pneuma or Ousia. Furina is different, because she has both Pneuma AND Ousia, and can change mode between Pneuma and Ousia. She's not an Archon (or not anymore), and yet she's special.

You need a Fontaine unit like Hydro Traveler or Lynette. Fontaine units all have an Arkhe attached to either their Normal Attack, Skill, or Ultimate abilities.
Sword of Narzissenkreuz from the Fontaine world chain quest. It is a very long (and imo, not particularly well written) chain of world quests that at the end when you return to the fountain in Annapausis will reward you with the Sword of Narzissenkreuz. It only deals a total of about 5-8% less DPS compared to Festering Desire when you are using an identical setup to my Traveler. In future videos, you will notice that I have swapped to Sword of Narzissenkreuz due to its guaranteed availability as part of a permanent world quest chain rather than an event.
Narzissenkruez... is that the Ann Oceanid questline that stalls out in the book of Ordo... oh wait I can finally continue it since it apparently required Seymour...
Wriothesley technically can, it's just that his Pneuma is attached to this Ultimate rather than his skill or charged attack (which, yeah, functionally speaking makes it so that he basically can't)
I dont get it... It says to use ousia or pneuma but i cant do it with furina. Why is that even though in the talent description it should've been plausible....
@@Politictrolerandenthusiast you can. You must use your charged attack on furina rather than the normal attack (as the pneumaousia proc only happens on damage dealt rather than on hit)
Hydro traveler specifically because they have Pneuma Arkhe. Only units from Fontaine have the Arkhe mechanic (Hydro Traveler is considered to be from Fontaine). There are only 2 units that are free and guaranteed to have the Arkhe mechanic available for f2p players: Hydro Traveler with Pneuma, and Lynette with Ousia. All of the other Fontaine units have the mechanic but need to be pulled for in the gacha.

It must be Fontaine units only, as they are the only units in the game currently with the "Arkhe" (Pneuma/Ousia) mechanic. Hydro Traveler counts as a Fontaine unit as they were released alongside Fontaine and as such have the Arkhe mechanic. No other Traveler element types have it as of the writing of this reply. As such, it is not tied to Hydro, but being from Fontaine. Units like Lynette, Freminet, etc are all from Fontaine and have an Arkhe alignment.
