If you’ve ever seen any of my videos, you know I want you to always fix your problems at the source. But often times certain situations are unavoidable or we’re getting messed up audio from clients. A common issue that needs fixing in post is plosives.
Plosives are a rush of air usually caused by P’s, B’s, or even th’s that cause the diaphragm of a microphone to be severely disrupted. This results in a very distorted low end blast that is shockingly upsetting to any victim, I mean listener of this phenomenon.
We explore a few different ways to reduce this effect in this video, ranging from a specific way of using IzoTope RX (~$400), automating high pass filters ($0), and setting up plosive/FX tracks (also $0) that can quickly and easily reduce the low end blast that is typically the most upsetting part of plosives.
There are many more ways to rid your podcast of plosives, so let me know in the comments what trick you use to make this effect more palatable for your listeners!
Thanks for watching!
