They give you two weeks to pass these exams in the military. Five weeks should be more than doable. Thats one week for every section of the exam but I highly recommend studying for two sections per week and the remaining weeks reviewing. For PBQ's definitely save them for the end if you can't answer them quickly. I typically would spend some time answering some of the PBQs partially during the first ten minutes of the exam, and the saving the harder PBQ for the end. That way I dont feel too much pressure when circling back to the PBQ's as they would be at least partially finished.

I think I really need to learn IP addressing and subnetting more, because I find that the hardest - numbers make my head hurt. Quick question, what sort of IT job did you get into? Professer messer does a really good job explaining subnetting. I am phone support for on-site techs. I just recently got on a new team where we configure routers, phones, and troubleshoot circuits remotely. @TimothyNeubert
@TimothyNeubert 2 года назад
You have to have good time management. Make sure will have at least 30 min to answere pbqs or make sure to speed yourself up. The reason to save pbqs for the end is because many people will spend too much time on them then not have time to answere the multiple choice questions(which should be easier than pbqs). If you think doing them first will work better for you then try it, just make sure your time doesn’t get sucked into them.

1. A guy I met at my HS reunion told me he currently works in IT and he sent me the link to Messer's playlist. Should I watch all his videos before I view other study resources or should I find other study guide topics such as notes related to the particular video I just watched? 2. I hardly have any background or experience with IT. I worked as a sound technician for a couple of weeks but was unfortunately let go. Many of these IT companies require a lot of experience so would having the certificate alone be enough to apply for It positions or are employers looking for other elements to add to that certificate? I did watch Messer's video on how to get a job in IT without experience and he brought up certain volunteer work but I think that would be hard to find. 3. Where is the link for the online exam?
@TimothyNeubert
@TimothyNeubert 8 месяцев назад
Hello, Messer's video course is a great place to start and I would definitely go through it. It really depends on the job title, the job duties, the amount of experience that the employer wants... The Net+ cert on my resume has gotten me into interviews and some roles. Whether the employer wants to pursue you further depends on how the interview goes, so certs can only do so much for you. I don't think it should be very hard to get an entry level IT job with net+ under your belt though. Exam voucher link: store.comptia.org/comptia-network-n10-008-voucher/p/NET-008-TSTV-21-C

Jason Dions Video course is decent, it gives you all the information you need to pass, but the hardest part I have with his material is 'it's easy to get bored' just watching him talk and watching slides. However, I really really like the study notes he provides in each of his courses. It references as a nice cheatsheet of information. The Mike Meyers Course on Udemy is better in terms of "Keeping your attention" but it provides crappy notes, doesn't label each video to the objective # for reference, and provides slightly less overall information than Jason Dions material. I really liked Andrew Ramdayals material because he provides a study cheat sheet, straight to the point in teaching, explains how it works in the IT field, and does the hands on approach. I passed my Core 1 and Core 2 A+ by using 85% of his material (15% from other sources) on top of using Practice tests from Jason Dion and ExamCompass. To my disappointment, Andrew Ramdayal has not made a Network+ N10-008 Course. So now I'm trying to mix and match Jason Dion and Mike Meyers Video Courses as a Combo, I may also use Professor Messor as an extra because I know he's pretty solid if you need to know a specific topic. I thought about CBT Nuggets because they have Practice Labs in their course Training package.

After completing Google IT Support Certificate, is that enough prior knowledge to study for Network+ certification and give the exam after prep? On the CompTIA and Coursera, it says that Google's IT support certificate and A+ are closely aligned.
@josephgarceau6753
@josephgarceau6753 10 месяцев назад
Google IT support is.not a substitute for Comptia A+. It is recommended that you go in order A+ to Net+ to Sec+ but you can skip around. There is some overlap in information between the certifications and another benefit of going in order is that each one renews the previous certification
