I wasn't sure about the color but now that it's finished , with the top and hardware, I so love it. This is an amazing makeover. Congrats. Another great job ❤
what a transformation! that color won me over in the end, and i love how those new wooden knobs play off against the retique-it top. super nice result, kara! 💗
I have a dresser , and headboard in my bedroom right now that is close to the same style, and in the same desperate need for a transformation as yours was!!! I love your channel and your work, you make me believe that I am able to tackle this!!!!! Never thought I would have even attempted this!!!! You are an inspiration to a 60+ year old lady that is re-doing my whole house!!! Thank you!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like to stick to neutrals because they usually don’t go out of style. The bolder colors while I think are pretty will age more overtime. Love what you did. I’m a huge fan of your channel
Kara! Another beauty! I usually am very neutral on my color choices…. But this one was so lovely. Am amazed at your vision for your projects. ❤️.- Jill
I LOVE IT!!!!!! What a beautiful difference! I personally am so tired of grey that some color thrills me 😉 Those knobs are just perfect with the new look. BRAVO 😍
I sold my childhood Dixie furniture except the desk. I wish i had it all back now! I painted it yellow with the white top and solid white with the white top. I love it all white best with new crystal knobs! The old knobs were white with gold ring near the center as shown in your video. I think im going to try and hunt down the dresser with perfume jewelry box mirror, bunkbeds and nightstand ! Id love to use them in the bonus room when we finish the remodel on there later this year!
I’m a fan of bold colors and patterns!! In more private rooms like bathrooms & bedrooms. I Love the boho look❤ I do tend to be in the neutrals with Public spaces in home. Love the idea of the wood grain but too uniform. I have a wood grain tool that you can rock to make wood grain stretch longer or shorter. Love that. Love the coloring you. Did with the wood grain ❤ Can you link your respirator?
Everyone tastes are different. I may love that color .. but not with my vibe in my home. Lol. When a see artist doing style furniture, NOT a fan of mid century, but can appreciate the skill and talent. Beautiful... and even love the color combo.
Thank you for the paint sprayer recommendations. I am retiring and wanted to do a little furniture. Flipping for fun on the side but I don’t want to invest in a commercial grade paint sprayer. Will definitely try that one out from Lowe’s that you recommended. Thanks!
This was so fun. I think I like the other faux wood grain you've used in the past, but the owner of this peace myst be thrilled, as it looks fantastic! Since you asked us, yes, I love bold colors. In June, I'm going to put up paintable wallpaper in my foyer and then paint it Benny Moore's Sedona Clay. It's on my entry door and it's stunning. The ceiling is already a pale salmon. In a Victorian home like mine, filled with flame mahogany, burled walnut and cherry furniture, I use bold colors throughout, with my neutral, grounding color of Black. IMO, every room should have black. Keep on flipping:)
Did you mark the drawer locations before beginning? I thought that was an important step? I do like the final look of the piece!! Prefer the other woodgrain rocker tool I've seen you use, though 😊
Beautiful transformation!!!… Question: Did you wipe back that last, lighter stain color used at the end (prior to applying LM top coat)? The only reason I ask is because it looks much more opaque upon application. Or does that particular stain become more transparent once fully dried?
It turned out amazing! Thanks for sharing. BTW if you have any tips for getting rid of the smell of mouse from inside a dresser I would love to hear them! I've tried everything I can think of.
Love the colour! But i find it hilariously ironic how many flippers insist that "orange" furniture is ugly. Not in love with the greige top though. Something a little warmer or even ivory would be my preference.
I think you did this piece on a faux wood comparison video where you had like 4 different pieces you had done. This was my least favorite of them all but I do remember you saying that it was for a friend. The only reason I was not fond of it was the body color. Otherwise, nice job but I don't like the faux wood choice for the top. It needed a different graining tool not the one you used.
I've been curious about the mask you wear. Is it blocking harmful fumes or just dust? I guess that should be obvious, but I'd love to hear your reasoning! Thanks :)
Your work is beautiful. Personally, I’m not a fan of this color; however, giving the client what they want is what’s important. I’m not afraid of color, but I’m not a fan of the red, orange and yellow families in the spectrum. I much prefer cooler tones, all the way to black.
I use only neutral colors in my own house, after all it’s me who has to look at them every day. But I do admire people who bring crazy colors in, how are they not get overstimulated with them? Guess our brains and eyes are different.
I wish I could have taken better pics in the tween bedroom it went into! It was just perfect in there. Very neutral boho in her decor and bedding paired with a large wall mural with this orange color mixed in paired with the orange dresser! Ugh so adorable! I would have loved this at her age! It’s fun to paint those loud pops of color sometimes that’s for sure. Thanks for watching hope to see you next time!
I keep re-watching the part where you say "you show your settings" for sprayer/compressor. I can't see it. I got the sprayer but only have a Craftsman 150 psi 6 gallon compressor so I hope compatible (gauge broken on compressor tho). I plan to go down the list...and use your code. Starting here. PLEASE ADVISE thanks so much
@@LemonstoLemonadeFurniture Thank you...I just got back from getting my gear! (Charleston, SC) worst case I can borrow the neighbors big tank. ALSO....do you (and I apologize if I haven't seen, NEW subscriber) do you have any tips on METAL (like restoring via painting a Tool Chest)?? Best way to paint metal. It's already been cleaned/sanded....was going to just tape and spray paint...but you seem to be the OG on restoration ... thanks so much for making a difference for us DIY single moms...
The only thing I would change is the use of the fake wood tool.... I don't like the intense lines it creates.... I would have used a harsh brush to create the modern look of wood, but it's just personal preference. Furthermore, you usually modernize the bases of furniture but you left this one look dated. I guess your friend preferred it like that. Totally fine.
this is what happens when you let a client pick the color. 😂 awful everyday furniture color. ugh. but ... the masterpiece you did was amazing.. I thought you were gonna show us less work to get this dresser repainted but you ended up having to do pretty extensive prep work imo... and a stripper may have actually been faster here.. Ive seen those knobs but never seen anyone use them. they look cool... also that little round sander is super nice.
