Yours is the clearest, easiest to follow video. We have three different watering zones, and struggled for a week trying to figure out the terrible instructions that come with this unit. I took your video outside with me and did it step by step. Thank you so much!
@@Niagarasprinkler your instructions were great, but how do you know which zones go to which program (A, B, or C)? You said your shrubs were A and citrus were B, but how did you set that up, and how can you tell after the fact? I thought all our zones were set to A but I can't get ours to turn on. Is there a way to check which zone goes to what program? Thank you!
Great video, made it very easy to program the otherwise confusing controller. I really wished you went over the zones a bit which I believe zones require separate wiring.

I have followed your instructions, which were extremely clear. My question is I have been turning on my sprinkle or system manually from the dial in which position do I have the water on? Do I leave it in the office position?

Thanks for the great tutorial. East understand. Just a follow up to another comment and something to include if you do another video. I could not get skip day on program B to work. It took me awhile to figure it out. When using the skip function, each "day" on the dial needs to be set to - - - (dash, dash, dash) using the plus / minus keys. Each day on mine was defaulted or set to "off", so program B would not work on any day! The dashes were visible on your video, but the possibility for each day to be set to off was not.

How do you set the timer if you want all three zones to water at the same time on one program. For 3 minutes on each zone 1,2, and 3 staring at 6:00am each one for the same time.
I know this an old video but needs some help. 1st thank you!!!!!! I now know how to use this. We have this on our house but our gardners set this up many years ago. So I didn't know how to use it. I will be planting apple trees and vegetables. I want to extend the hose to the area where they they will be. Does any one know how to do this ? It seems to have 3 sets (A,B & C) Would I need to add 2 more(hose) are just connect to another one?
KoreanPolish*G-Man you have multiple options, if there is already and existing irrigation line for trees you can tap into that line and extend it. If you dont have a tree line i suggest adding an additional line for trees only. Same for your vegetables, if you already have a shrub line(water to your bushes) then you can tap into that no problem
Great Tutorial on the basics. My problem is I have a program B (with three zones) that is not recognized by the regular days programming. The irrigation controller does recognize zone B when using the Auto function. Any suggestions on how to resolve my problem?
maybe its just us--but these watering systems drive us nuts. 😂 with our current irritrol total control system, we have individual settings for trees, shrubs, roses and lawn-- can we replace it with one of these? thanks
I had a new new Rain dial timer installed a couple months ago and the landscaping company installed it. I asked that the plants be watered twice a week and only 5 minutes a time I have 5 different areas or zones. My problem is my timer runs the program but it keeps running the program for at least 3 times I shut of the timer once I figured out what was going on. I asked the landscaper about fixing this problem he said he reset the timer and it is still doing it…. Im very frustrated not sure if there is a way to fix this maybe set it back to beginning and start over? Please advise if possible, thank you Mary
What can I do if all of my sprinkler valves are set on one program? I have total of 11 different watering zones. I’m trying to figure out how to change the start time of one zone to about 2 hours later
OMG. Watching 5+ descriptions on how to program this device I can say that most know how to program and NOBODY knows how to EXPLAIN it. Please just stop. OR, object and argue back so I can destroy your puny ideas.
These rain dials are junk I have had 2 go bad in less then 10 years. One I got repaired guy who lives in my city (Phoenix) it lasted another year broke again. The electronics are a poor design I don't know why. My primary home has had a cheap rain bird since 1990's never had a problem. I don't know why landscapers insist on installing junk timers. They always start chattering the solenoid, or buzzing it. The repair guy blamed said my solenoid was bad and it burned out the timer. My old rain bird has had several bad solenoids even shorted the wires a few times didn't cause any problems. You guys need to stop installing these just plane POS. I know might sound angry about it when you spend $150-300 a pop you expect years of service yet a $45 home depot rain bird is more reliable. The rain dial interface is good the easy to use connect lot of valves to it not sure why their quality control is so bad.
