This video was a fantastic basic overview of Illustrator. I had never used the tool before, but I was able to edit and customize my vector images quickly. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video!
Is the text actual "live" text or has it been converted into shapes (in which case, it is not editable. You'll need to make a new text box and delete the shapes.)
Hi Kayla, Your tutorial was very helpful, as always. I really enjoyed the way you teach. I hope you will have a tutorial on eBooks on how to create them from scratch (flowable and fixed layout). Thanks in advance.
I should be filming another Print Book → Ebook conversion video soon! In the meantime, have you checked out this video? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qKU7180eLc8.html
Hi, thanks for the video. I need a vector for dividing text. In freepik the vectors are in pack, may be 50 vectors together. How can one single out one vector?
Are they on separate canvases or all on one? If they're all together, you likely need to ungroup them at least once if not multiple times to separate all the pieces.
@@beckysgraphicdesign no, I know that, I'm talking about when you download an image with a chequered background from freepik, they go into Illustrator....I can''t work out how to actually make it transparent....They told me turn off the background which I can do with an editable text in Photoshop but that's bot showing with a transparency with a chequered background...there is no background to delete....The image in Illustrator is also really tiny...Freepik are not helpful at all...and there are no RU-vid videos explaining it...
The file you're downloading is a PNG? Not a .PSD or an .AI file? Also, are you using premium FreePik? It's possible that they only provide true transparent PNGs if you pay for them, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
@@beckysgraphicdesign Thank you...when I download the PNG's, they are AI so go directly there, but I can';t see any way to save them with a transparent background. Freepik are NO help at all, they said turn off the background but there is no background to turn off like the editable text in PS which is easy to do, ....Yes i have the premium subscription....
Hey, what is the situation with using vector graphics on the www? According to the regulations, you can't host vector graphics, but the use on the www involves the fact that someone can download it.
I have a question I’m not sure how to ask. I got artwork from someone and they say there are different pieces of art in there. I tried releasing clipping mask, looking at all layers, but I cannot find all the artwork he swears he added to this 1 file. It’s not the pages I already opened both and cannot find what he says is in there. Is there a way he hid these other “art boards” I cannot seem to find? This is driving me nuts 😩 lol
Hm, if you're not seeing ANYTHING in your layers, my best guess is that your friend messed up somehow. There's not a way to hide something from the layers that I'm aware of.
I don't know if this video will help me, I don't know if the lady on the intro image has exactly the same issue as me. But she sure looks like I feel having spent an hour trying to unscramble an eps file from freepik!😅
Is the text still editable or has it been "outlined," meaning, converted into shapes? If so, you won't be able to edit it because it is no longer live text.
A lot of the time, that text that comes with these vectors is "outlined," meaning, converted to an image (no longer live text) in order to preserve its appearance. So, generally, you have to replace it.
OMG. . . Guys. . . THIS is the type of woman I need as my wife Just think Beauty & BRAINS A woman like this can really help me in so many different ways ( get your mind out of the gutter Geez ) I have been TRYING to understand AI 2022 and my mind just goes POOF But with a woman like this Life would be so simple
@@beckysgraphicdesign You do know the old saying Behide every good man Is a good woman. . . Telling him what to do next. I would love to help you. . . save time :-)
Try "Placing" or "Importing" the AI files into the After Effects file. This guy explains it well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yPha_s7W-0M.html
@@beckysgraphicdesign he did a great job but only one layer is showing on my AI file .. please can I get your Instagram so I can take photos and show you what I mean ??
Not the best tutorial. If you want us to follow you, you should use a vector that we all can download. Obviously i don't have freepik subscription and because of that i have used some different vector and i can't make it do the same thing, because it's a different example, there are different steps involved and so on.
