Thankyou for getting the message out there about Bridge. If you look in Bridge Preferences, General, click the box “Double Click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge”, Bridge will then host Raw without opening Photoshop until you need it. I have developed an efficient work flow with Bridge, Raw and PS. I download my Raw images to Bridge, converting them to DNG on download to avoid the XMP sidecar file, the XMP data is within the DNG and then sort the images, then open them directly into Raw just my double clicking. I never had any need to go any where near Lightroom or their catalogue.

Camera Raw tutorials please.Even though I've used Bridge and ACR exclusively over the years there doesn't seem to be many up to date books or videos available. When a new feature is added it seems that you are on your own to figure it out mostly with trial & error.

Good to see Bridge getting some respect! Yes, please, more about Bridge, such as its connections to Photoshop via Bridge’s Tools menu. And it’s excellent Export module. The more influential RU-vidrs such as yourself pay attention to Bridge then perhaps that’ll encourage Adobe to pay more attention to it. They seem to forget it exists as well!

bridge + photoshop is a nice workflow. It really has some benefits over Lightroom Classic.

Really? I failed to see any, other than having to manually close both Photoshop & Topaz, which adds two additional steps.

@@dav14pawest a single click may sometimes disrupt a workflow I agree. But on the specific case for Bridge the things are: Bridge man manage a lot of filetypes. It integrates the whole adobe suite. So if you do use other adobe products Bridge is already a better starting point than LrC. This also means it receives more attention, it has less last longing problems and it is suited for a wider range of workflows. It is also free. If you are a newcomer LrC is easier to learn though. LrC doesnt support multiple people using the same catalog at the same time, so if thats a deal breaker LrC is a no go. LrC can lead to compatibility problems and depending on you workflow and backup etiquette it may lead into you losing work. There are a lot of others if this then that details. Both are powerful software.

I've been using Adobe Bridge with ACR quite a lot few years ago until I switched to ON1 Photo Raw. I remember it's been very helpful and served me as an LR substitute. Like the latter it also has (among other features) the ability to sync edits of multiple images. Thank you Anthony.

Thank you for this Bridge video. I have been debating using it along with ACR and PS for about a year. The problem I have is my comfort zone, and my knowledge base in LR is strong. I have tried ACR but the user interface throws me off. I would appreciate more videos on ACR , especially the use of masking (with curves), HSL, sharpening, noise reduction and color grading. Thanks for all that you do. BTW, saw the Dorothea Lange exhibit at the Eiteljorg in Indy and it was fascinating!

Thank you for the update on Bridge. I never thought Bridge was any good BUT for just checking out an image in Camera Raw it works beautifully. I am seeing the same issue as one other person here...none of my plug-ins show up.

I never use Lightroom. I find the whole import thing clunky & a waste of time. I have always used Bridge, ACR & Photoshop. I guess one reason is I was using these before Lightroom existed. Best way to open an image in ACR is just to press command R. You can open multiple images in ACR & you DO NOT need to have Photoshop open to edit images in ACR!

Now what really interest's me is how many 100mb files you can cram into one single folder and open that from an external SSD with out crashing :) ( and how much RAM one needs doing this with a Macbook Pro or Air )

I really do like it at all. If you haven to click a photo in error, up opens PS. Why can't it open into Lightroom? Thx

Can I just save the image after editing, and over wright the original, instead of exporting? Also, each image I would fix, when I press done, I always have to close PS, work on the next image, then reopen PS, edit, close PS.......?

PROBLEM : I cannot bring Bridge to use the inbeded previews of my Raw photos (they DO have them intact, in sepia-tones). I tried all the many preferences possible, (so I think! Including flush preview cash, flush ALL preferences of bridge wile dedicated reset new start, told it to not build previews when files are larger then 1Mb, use fast preview only, never build previews, all combined, and more. Nothing does it.) Sometimes at some new starts the sepia versions (same files) do appear but never remain longer then a few seconds, that's it. They refresh with colored preview pics. (I'm professional LR user since version 1.0 I want to try use Bridge for culling before LR. I re-do my own monochromes with the few remaining best ones.)

I used to use Capture One, but I've decided it's getting too expensive, and since I also need Ps, C1 is just an added expense for little gain for me. So recently I have been using LrC, but I prefer C1's sessions. I started out with C1 7.0 and its catalogues, but they were way too slow. So, for me, a path from LrC to Bridge/ACR/Ps and anything to do with workflow using these tools would be helpful. There are the conversion process which would need to give concrete workarounds for virtual copies, and other gotchas, and session-based workflows. Not entirely related, I am a sole photographer, but I have a Surface Pro, and ASUS notebook and (at least) one desktop computer. Is there a good way to manage my subscription to allow me to move between these freely? I go on trips, a desktop computer in Tin Can and another at home are both entirely reasonable, and if I visit Daughter on the other side of the Great Southern Land, perhaps one there too.

ICould you explain the purpose of Bridge please. If I use LR99% of the time and PS 1%, why do I need this extra program to edit in (which I have but never use)? What am I missing out on?? Thanks :)

It's not really needed (any more, my opinion), if you use Lightroom Classic. However, it was available together with Photoshop before Lightroom was released.

So despite the heading of this video Mr M, you CAN`T edit photos in Adobe Bridge! I subscribe to the Adobes Photography Plan and do all my editing in Lightroom, so for me personally I occasionally use Bridge to view RAW files and thats it, other than that its pointless and I never use Camera Raw either, whats the point if you have Lightroom.
