Love your delivery, was super easy to understand and something I've been researching and trying to understand better, much appreciated video.

This is the best video I have seen on RU-vid when it comes to explaining something. To the point and without unnecessary information. You explain it so clearly and logically that it is understandable for everyone. The video is not too long. Just right. I don't often leave a comment on RU-vid, but in this case I appreciate it so much for the time and effort you took to explain it so well, that I just have to say that. It must have taken quite some time to make and share this video. Thank you!

Wow thanks so much for taking the time to write that comment I really appreciate you saying that. I spent a lot of time planning this video and how to structure it so I'm so glad glad it was helpful! :) :)

Great video, I have just deliberately filmed in different frame rates using my drone. I had to do this as some features on my drone only work with 4k 30fps, other features i can use 4k 60fps. I was thinking in davinci to create a 30fps timeline but before dragging clips onto to timeline, going into attributes and setting the 60fps footage to 30fps.Then when dragged into the timeline it should be fine with no dropped frames. It would then be in slow motion I know, however I could then just increase speed of that footage and whloa. Am I correct as i think this should work. I am gonna try this weekend.

Great video. Could you please link the panning calculator you've mentioned? Much appreciated 👍

Jason, thanks very much for this, and all your other videos. It's helping me tremendously in my running about with a 4k DJI OSMO on my fossil Chanel. I am being a little more adventurous and about to shoot a short film with my Nikon D850. One of the interior locations has led ceiling lights and with round 'blobby ones' when I film at 60fps are okay, but the strips pulse all over the place - I guess this is the Hertz refresh rate being different in two rooms (in the UK)... So, in my Nikon D850 there's a setting you can change between 50 or 60 Herts. I guess 24 / etch FPS is for a 50hz and the 30 / 60 is for the 60hz? But is changing the in camera settings enough? Or should I keep things at 1080p but 24 or 50fps to avoid any issues? Sorry Jason, too many questions 🤔😬👍 thanks again for a fantastic teaching platform here to make us all a lot better at what we do 🥂🎬

Hi Jason, thank you for explaining this, I've been looking everywhere trying to solve this issue but I'm still not clear about how to mix different frame rates together in one video. How were you able to show the different effects of different frame rates in this tutorial though? Thanks!

Hi! What are you not clear about/what would you like to know in a future video? I think I recording this vid at 30fps to be able to show effects of other frame rates (I think!) :) :)

@@JasonRobertsVideo I kind of understand now. Your timeline is at 30 FPS, and then you directly drag 60 FPS and 24 FPS footage onto this timeline. The exported video will actually look different, right? So I don't really need to worry about putting different frame rate timelines together, right?

I prefer 24 . . I think we are past the fps craze!

If I have 25 & 30 fps footage, and the 25 fps footage is around 60% of the overall footage. Should I edit in 25 or 30 fps timeline to get the best and smooth result? in other word is it better to drop frames or to use optical flow?
@JasonRobertsVideo
@JasonRobertsVideo 24 дня назад
That's a tough one and there is no perfect solution (assuming you don't slow motion effect on the 30fps footage by slowing it down to 25) I would see what optical flow looks like on a few different clips and compare that against drop frames and see which one looks best and go from there.

This is a great Video it took with me few years to find all these answers by my self, and you put it in one place, I can add before the AI method, there is expensive Hardware to convert FPS, it's popular in TV channels or big production houses, also there was a manuel method to do the pull down using after effects. Great video

This video was extremely informative. I’m trying to find a way of correcting this issue in adobe premiere. I filmed in 24fps. Any suggestions?
