Hey man, thanks for the great info. I just ordered an Alienware M18 and for the ram I got the 5800 xmp 32gb ddr5 option. Seeing this video helped me enable XMP when it gets here! Thanks a lot brother. EDIT: I got my laptop and it seems it was already enabled for you if you chose the XMP capable RAM upgrade when buying it and customizing it at checkout.
Hey i cant find the performance mode setting, i did change the default setup i have an acer nitro 5 and i dont know if maybe there just isnt that setting on this laptop
This video is 6 months old and you’re still replying to a comment from 2-3 days ago 👏🏼 I’m trying it out now since my ram only give 2933 MHz on my Dell G3, 2x 4gb sticks. I’ll let you know how it goes
Appreciate it brother. And just a heads up, intel systems only allow for XMP profiles, so the only way it will work is if your RAM has the profile to begin with. Typically crucial and Kingston have these (Kingston for sure).
I have a Lenovo motherboard and I cant seem to find any settings inside the bios that would allow me enable anything related to xmp seems very very few setting available to me, I should add my ram is XMP compatable
Hey I was just wondering I enter the bios do what you did hit f9 I optimized it and nothing new appears in advanced settings please respond when you are available
Hey, I have (pretty much) the exact same looking bios as you but in the advanced tab i cant see the performance options even after loading the optimised defaults. My motherboard is the asus prime h310m-r r2.0 fyi
Hey man, thank u for the video. I have a hp pavilion 14 notebook laptop and when boot my system there's no advanced option or xmp or overclocking item. What can I do?
It's got to be the type of RAM then. The thing about ram, is the only way default bios works is if the RAM has XMP profiles to select in performance settings.
Hi. So my laptop supports 16 gigs of ram according to the cmd terminal. It came in with 8gb which I changed manually to a single 16 gb one. But the ram never goes above 8 whenever I've noticed. I tried your method, but I couldn't see any of the options in BIOS that you do. Thanks in advance
That means it operates on a completely different bios. But many times, the system will have two 8gb slots one being on the back of the motherboard, have you looked into where the ram slot locations are for that specific laptop?
@@JBORD101 hey man thanks for the reply first of all. I have a single RAM slot if that's what you're asking. I need to open up the laptop again if i want to see where the RAM slots are
@@s3m1ot1c2 the ram needs to be xmp enabled in order to increase the base mhz, but luckily (sort of).. I can at least tell you the ideapads aren't normally capable of performance increases; as these machines are very simple by design.
Hi, thx first for this video. I have the same Bios System and Im useing an Acer Predator PO3-620. When I press f9 and enter for the default settings nothing pops up like your tho. Help would be much appreciated thank you.
Bro I have Alienware x17 r1 and i have put kingston fury impact 32gb and in bios overclock is enabled and xmp 1 is selected but can't increase the speed still stays on 3200mhz not 3466mhz Do help me figure it out?
The dell alienware motherboard/bios maxes out at 3200. I'm in the same boat but it's hardware limitation, and is part of Dell's design. Sorry I don't have better news brother, I know its frustrating
Hi I have an Alienware area51m r2 with 2x32gb ram from Kingston it’s not the fury one but it does support 3200 mhz But i am currently at 2933mh I did everything but I can’t find the xmp1 option to select on the final step. Thank you
Hi, I just upgraded my RAM from 4GB to 16GB, but oddly, l'm not experiencing any noticeable improvement. While researching I did come across something like XMP, but since I have an HP laptop and they don't provide advanced options in the BIOS, I really doubt that I will be able to enable So Is there any other way to enable the full potential of the RAM?
Intel XTU is an app that allows you to tune the cpu and ram timings, it may have an option for RAM frequency tuning as well.. but full disclosure, I have never used it for that so idk if this is the case.
Don’t know if your going to reply but I’m on ho and it does not show the andvaced it just show main, security, configuration and boost options I but the f9 thing worked do yk what’s going on
It didn't worked for me after pressing F9 unfortunately. There is no such thing as performance mode in my case. I'm using an Alienware m15 with rtx 2070
Dell g5 5000. When i boot into the bios, i get a very laggy screen that appears to be from the lat 90's and looks nothing like yours. Im a PC nub, but i assume my PC is locked down to some degree?
Likely so, manufacturers don't enable performance options on all their motherboards. Makes it to where devices they sell are more likely to last past the warranty, then they don't have to repair anything at a cost to them.
i have a i7 11800h 3070 intel graphics card and i can access overclocking feature and enable it but when i got to put xmp 1 all i see is disable. i’m not sure what to do
My f9 reads setup default instead of load defaults. When i click it, it opens up "load default configuration now?" Instead of "load optimized default?". What do i do? My laptop is a acer nitro 5, just bought a 3200mhz 8gb ram, but a different brand from the original ram stick.
Acer is a selfish company and doesn't let most users access this feature. Reason being is most likely due to warranty. When a comany provides a good warranty they usually don't allow features like this.
so when i press F9 and the menu comes up i press enter but the menu just goes away after i do that and doesn’t bring me to where it needs to how do i fix ?
First thing you have to find out is if the RAM is XMP enabled. Next, intel or amd? If intel, and you can't see performance settings in bios... The best you can do is get MSI Afterburner, and INTEL XTX to bring up performance. You won't have the option to enable XMP, without performance settings in bios.. But you can at least tweak the RAM timings with INTEL XTX. If you're on AMD, you should have access to similar settings as "performance" regardless of computer manufacturer.
Can someone help so basically, i have this ram which is ddr4 2400 mhz but whenever i install this ram to my pc my pc would go slow and when i open the task manager CPU % stuck on 99 and the most high percentage is services and controller apps
I have a lenovo ideapad 3 14ada05 and im trying to upgrade its ram by using a 8gb ram card but somehow its always a black screen when i boot it up how do i fix this
My laptop is lenovo ideapad gaming 3 I'm have 16 ram before now the fps doesn't increase in games Would I must xmp profile in the laptop or not?sorry my English is bad
All good man. The idea pad often doesn't have performance settings in the bios.. so you might be screwed. But, if you do have performance settings, all you need is a set of ram sticks that have xmp. If you don't have xmp certified ram, you won't have the option to use it.
@@JBORD101 Thx man I search for the xmp in bios but it's not found it's not available in bios but I update windows and the fps don't increase still the problem but I download cpu z program written it's dual channel the drops in games is disappear but the fps doesn't increase the dual channel must give boost fps right?
Get a actual gaming computer lol.. but, the only other option (maybe) is a bios update that unlocks performance settings. Low performance machines don't come with this option hardly ever.
As long as you follow the video, yes. Its not possible to do anything outside the context of assigned functions.. for computers that function correctly to begin with, that is.
It normally means the manufacturer limits your ability to alter performance. Sadly, when it comes to memory, the only motherboards that can get around manufacturer limits, is ASUS. Other than that, intel xtu and msi afterburner are your only options.
UEFI Settings should take you into bios. If you're hooked into a laptop, you'll need to use the laptop screen as bios only displays on a monitor via an actual desktop.
I have ram that is compatible, My bios screen looks completely different, i even tried downloading an older bios and i couldn't do anything. This might be because i am on a laptop though. (m15 r6)
I use an HP desktop but I couldn't find the settings so it didn't work help please i could go into the bios and than press F9 but it didn't get met access to those settings
@@JBORD101 well that seems an good reason to get an new motherboard and psu and case to just easily step away from HP and being able to use xmp settings
@@drama2372 that would explain the lack of an XMP option, but not performance options, which typically are built into the bios.. intel and dell can be some shady characters, so I'd recommend taking manual control with intel xtu and msi afterburner.
Blame the manufacturer man.. Many companies grey this out so you can overclock, then they don't have to service your device since you slightly shortened the lifespan of a product.
Can't say for certain. HP has the OMEN sect of the company where performance tweaks are more likely to be. The probook may not have it. Have you gone into bios yet to check?
The manufacturer doesn't allow it. Each company limits each line of computer, but allows a "gaming series" to get off the leash a little bit more than the other lines
Someone can tell me please msi gf63 thin 10scxr I'm using 2 slot ram 8x2 gb so 16gb ddr4 speed 3200mhz and run at 2993 mhz why and how to fix please help
