Okay, I won't lie, I literally teared up a bit when the cable car emerged from the tunnel and you could see those trees. That was just amazing! Definitely adding this to my travel list! The garden was really amazing as well. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
i cant believe this time last year i was dreaming of moving to japan and this year im here. im still watching your videos. they went from motivating me to move here to now, where they inform my travel decisions now that im here. thank you.
I LOVE the generosity of spirit of Japanese evidenced by the staff member giving you the tickets! One time I returned to Japan after a long sea deployment and I had to get back to Misawa wayyyy up north. I had never done this before, but I was expected to do it by myself, so I was bumbling my way through the process. Everybody from my unit who did the same thing as I took the train from Ueno. So, off to Ueno which was an adventure in itself. As I stood on the main concourse, most assuredly looking totally confused and desperate, a Japanese man in his 30s I would say came up and asked in broken English if I needed help. I was able to get through to him that I needed to get to Misawa on the night train and I had no idea how to do it. This gentleman told me that the ticket to Misawa would cost a certain amount of yen and for me to give it to him. I REALLY hesitated to do that, but something told me that I could trust him so I took a chance. He told me not to move from my spot. As he rushed off, I had a sinking feeling in my gut that I would never see him again and I was wondering what I was going to do. But...perhaps ten minutes later, this TRUE gentleman appeared on the horizon of the concourse with ticket (and change) in hand. He picked up my bag, walked me to the train platform, onto the train, and to my seat. Just writing this down now all these years later, I'm still blown away by his generosity. I truly wonder if it would happen anywhere else.
So beautiful! It did look like a scene out of a Ghibli film. The foggy ride up the mountain, the food, the garden with matcha - it all looked heavenly, and I felt relaxed watching this. すごく綺麗な場所をお撮りしてシェアしてありがとうございました。お疲れ様でした。😊
Rainy days are my aesthetic, and an environment like this with all this beautiful nature and these scared spots in the mountains among the fog and clouds is perfect!
Japan's scenery is unlike anything I have ever laid eyes on. This is one of the reasons I want to visit. Not Tokyo, though I do want to experience that, but it is places like this that I want to immerse myself in. Absolutely stunning.
okayy my heart skipped a beat. that place is BEAUTIFUL like heaven. my wish is to go there and take my parents there with me. can't wait to finish collage and start working so I can take my parents to such peace ful place. best video ever
Who else hits the like button as soon as they open up the video? Very peaceful video :) The scenery and atmosphere of the area indoors and out are so soothing just to look at! I'd never even know such a nice place existed if not for you sharing your awesome experiences and trips with us Sharla thank you!
I wanted to cry during your video.... the landscapes are so beautiful and peaceful. I'm so happy that places like this still exists ! I'm aware that I will maybe never have the chance to go to Japan... so I want to thank you for all the stuff that you share with us 🌟 it's so amazing. 🖤 thank you for your videos !
Sharla, I don't know if you will see this, but I wanted to let you know that my husband and I are traveling to Japan now in part because of your videos! We took the cable car up to Enryaku-ji! It was magical for us! Thank you for all your work to show people Japan!!!
I am so glad you enjoyed your time in Otsu! It is such an underrated city that most people have never heard of, so I am so glad you were able to come and document your time here. Please come again!
Sharla in Japan I know right? Kyoto's cool and all but it's so full of people and everyone has very similar experiences. Otsu is actually older than Kyoto, was the capital of Japan before Kyoto, and just overall has much more charm to it than Kyoto imo. I'm (frustrated no one told me you were coming) but very happy to see people finally beginning to discover what a great city this is. There is much more to Otsu that you have yet to experience, so please come again when you have the chance!
your trip to Otsu is so relaxing, therapeutic, and magical~ I can't wait to visit this beautiful place one day 💕 please continue to capture these moments for us Sharla! thanks you for your awesome footage and vlogs!!!
I booked two nights in Otsu after watching this video a week ago, and I've just arrived at the cable car coming from Kyoto this morning! Your videos have been such a help for my first time in Japan - travelling solo so it's like having someone here guide me through haha ☺️✨
The attention to every bit of detail and aspects to food and everything else is amazing. I’m part Japanese and I’ve only started taking interest in the language and culture as of late. Thanks for you’re videos, they’re sensational and somewhat comforting, it has a really nice feel with the way you explain everything also. I can not wait to experience all of this and more when I, one day, travel to Japan! You’re Japanese is on point as well 👍
I can't get over how stunning and magical this place was. I loved this video so much I bookmarked it so I can watch it again. For some reason it reminded me a little of Akira Kurosawa's Dreams - one of my favorite movies.
I seriously love these video's you do. Getting to see so many parts of Japan I'll probably never get to experience is just wonderful. This video especially sooths the soul! I love rain and fog and combined with that scenery... just amazing.
I have been a silent follower for years but with this video I had the need to express how relaxing and wonderful it has turned out. It's perfect Sharla, thank you sooooooooo much
Thank you so much for sharing this. It is so beautiful and every meal looks so fresh and yummy! Good luck with finishing your calligraphy, looks like it's very difficult!
When I was living in Kyoto we would hike up the other side of Hieizan and it took us like 7 hours to get up to Enryaku-ji but it was one of the most magical experiences I ever had. The weather was great and Enryaku-ji's not as crowded as other temple which was nice. We even passed an abandonned ski slope that was creepy as hell and there's a cable car in the Kyoto side as well. I want to go back someday~
Wonderful Japan travel vlog! I teared up a few times it was so beautiful and interesting. When I lived there I use to love visiting Japanese temples when it was raining.
I really enjoy watching these kind of video's and see wonderfull places of Japan and gorgeous nature! the view from the cable car is amazing, specially wit the fog giving it something mysterious :) Also the garden looked like a wonderfull and peacefull place. I was really enjoying the garden and then BAM :"okay guys this is it, i'm going back home now." ?! I wasn't prepared for that! pffff...........
I just love your videos! I’ve been binge watching them the last couple days since I found your channels. Japan is so amazing. Must add it to my bucket list. Gods blessings always!
This whole video was so beautiful! I think I much rather would have liked the cloudy/misty weather than a bright, sunny day. The ambiance just through the video was amazing, so I bet it even better in person! Thank you so much for a great video (and LONG too! extra work! ;) )
Probably my favourite video of yours ever Sharla 💚 So calming and really inspired me. I've had a difficult week, and I have another on its way, but this video rejuvenated me somewhat. Would love to visit here some time xoxo
You have a very old Japanese soul. The way your calligraphy improved so much after only a few characters is remarkable!! You may be Canadian, but your personality is truly Japanese.
This video was like a very calm and peaceful meditation. I think I will re-watch it a couple of times. Perfect to come down after a stressful day. And I can totally imagine myself being there. just by watching the clip. So, thanks a lot!!! :)
This was so fascinating. I love your travel vlogs best - I love getting to visit places I likely won’t be able to go myself through your videos. So fun. 😊
I got a traditional japanese lunch in Kyoto last week and I had that sesame tofu... Soooo good! I think I love everything made with sesame (black sesame is my favorite ice cream flavor!)
That looks so beautiful! I’ll have to go there someday. Also that matcha 🍵 looks delicious! I love rainy, foggy days like that. I’m from New Hampshire and the cable car ride reminds me of being up in the white mountains as a child and riding up to the summit
Hi sharla I really love your videos and I’m improving my Japanese language thanks soooo much sharla you are the best you tuber I ever found in my life I hope everything goes okay in japan
