@@OshareJapan - In 2011 a team of Japanese student amateur boxers from Waseda University in Tokyo competed against Oxford University students in the hallowed precincts of the Union Debating Chamber!
This couple need to check out heritage weekend on the second weekend in September. I had a cream tea in Harry Potters dining room for free. I mean, I had to pay for the cream tea but that’s all. Many places are free all over the country which make a charge the rest of the year
Sometimes I thought students who have high grades can study in Oxford University until watching this video, even others who have different gradings can also afford it.
It’s not whether you can afford it, it’s all about getting the grades. All subjects require a minimum of 3 grade A’s at A levels or equivalent. In England we have many students who are from low income families who study here.
You can get into Oxford University's Christ Church College completely free-of-charge by attending Choral Evensong in the Chapel, which doubles up as Oxford's Anglican Cathedral. Don't forget that they keep their clocks on Oxford Local Time rather than British Standard Time! Because Oxford is sixty miles west of London, there's a five minute difference between them.
Apart from those destroyed by the German Air Force during World War Two? Oxford - unlike Bath, Canterbury or Exeter - was never bombed by the Luftwaffe because Adolf Hitler planned to stay there after Great Britain had been invaded and conquered.
Sensory overload! From the uniquely British view from atop a double-decker bus, to the gorgeous architecture you used as a breath-taking start to this tour. I have a strong suspicion Kiwi may have been employed as a docent at some point, or she had time to read up on Oxford while Bear drove. However it happened, you two put out a video that made it feel as if we were on a private tour.
£18 to get into a university building. Really? This couple should check out heritage weekend. I had a cream tea in Harry Potter's dining hall for free. At least, I had to pay for the cream tea, but that’s all. Heritage weekend usually takes place every second weekend in September, I think, and lots of places all over the country are free which normally charge.
Give me all the museums, I love them so much. My mum has already found HP spots she wants to take me too when I come back and actually wants to go to a Christmas market (her first ever one). It looks beautiful guys and so weird seeing a park and ride
Omg I’d love to see what the Christmas markets are like now! The Yokohama one is so pretty but it’d be nice to see one at home too! I can’t believe it’ll be her first, you must both be so excited 🥰❤️. Also getting used to all the parking/ buses was odd haha
The Ashmolean Museum, which contains Guy Fawkes's Lantern and Judge Bradshaw's bullet-proof hat, is free to visit. You can get into any Oxford University College (if it has a Chapel) for free simply by attending Evensong.
@@KempSimon I completely forgot I commented on this video. Can't believe it's been a year! We actually ended up passing through Oxford for Bath instead. Will definitely remember this for if/when we go next time though :)
@@cowbeau3011- The painted ceiling of the Sheldonian Theatre, where Oxford Uni students collect their Degrees, is as good as that of the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
