We just returned from Japan trip few days ago and it was the busiest every where we go there are so many people. What made me feel comfortable was that many still uses mask everywhere, it’s like 95% of the people wears mask. One can choose for themselves if they want to wear a mask but I have several friends getting sick during their vacation with Covid or when returning home, so we just decided if it’s indoors and we are not eating we wear a mask.
I have traveled to Japan many times during my career but it has been 12 years since I have visited, lots of changes (such as addition of the pocket Wi-Fi, great idea). Your videos have been very helpful as we have just started doing tentative plans on traveling to Japan in April 2024. Subscribed! By the way, my previous travels also included Sydney and to Victoria (mostly Frankston and Seaford).
Very useful information. I will certainly take advantage of Visit Japan Web for our upcoming trip in September. Just one quick question. Will they stamp my passport on entry? I will need a stamp so that I can collect our JR Pass. Thanks. Great channel. Subbed.
Thank for a very informative video! I have a question regarding the Immigration clearance and Customs declaration. If I answer Yes that I will be declaring for family members as well, does this mean that they do not need to get the QR code and declare in the same way? As I understand it, it would be enough for me to get the QR code.
Hello Mike, first and foremost thank you for this video it was very helpful. I should have watched it in entirety before making a mistake 🤣🤣🤣. With that said, I will be traveling to Korea but first spend a few days in Japan. 2 questions I hope you can help me out with. 1). I know I cannot edit the “Your Detail” section. That’s where I made a mistake. I selected yes to the visa because I have a visa from the United States. That section meant a Japan visa correct? Would that be an issue? The 1st question was so long I forgot the other question hahahaha
Hi Mike. Thanks for all the advice, exactly what I was looking for, including for Japan Amazon delivery address. 😄 I would have just one question, regarding the immigration. Q; Approx. how long does it take you to get from the disembarking plane to the arrivals area, if you have already registered on visit Japan and you have QR code ready? I wondering if 1h30min is enough to get off the plane (south wing) , pass immigration, pick up luggage and pocket Wi-Fi at arrivals lobby, then go down to buy Skyliner ticket and catch the train ? Thank you in advance.
Excellent Guide for Visit Japan Web! Thank you. My question: Do my son and his wife qualify as 'family members'? Or, since they are adults, should they register independently? I'm just trying to save them time, since they both work full time. Thanks.
So if I understand correctly, it is no longer mandatory to use it, right? I can travel to Japan without filling anything out. It would just be faster to get through customs when i enter japan or when i want to shop tax free, correct?
Hello Hima Wari, I think people here have gotten too use to wearing masks that it's become hard to remove. Friends who have known each other for years but haven't seen each other's full faces are scared to take them off for example.
Hi Mike! Thank you for a well-put-content related to traveling to Japan. How soon do we sign up for the Visit Japan Web prior to entering Japan? Arigato Gozaimasu🙏🏻
Hallo, thank you for your videos. Am finding them very useful. There’s no option to register a disembarkation card for my daughter. Should this be the case?
Hi Mike, my parents are having an extended layover (9 hours) at Haneda before heading toward Bangkok. They will be traveling in early December. Will this pose an issue to register via the Visit Japan and use the QR code to enter Japan for this short period of time? We are US citizen so the assumption is that we do not need to do the eVisa? In addition, will they still need to go through immigration (actual person to issue the entry Visa?) after they scanned the QR code at the kiosk? Will there also be a kiosk to scan through Custom as there is also the QR code dedicated for it. Thank you.
im staying in osaka and tokyo and got 2 different hotels. im going to be in osaka first but that place does not have a number listed anywhere. The second hotel in tokyo does. Should I use that hotel instead?
Hi! I’m travelling with my husband and 15yo Son. Do they also need to create their own VWJ account? Or I can use mine and just add them to the list of ‘Family travelling with me’?
In the 'Disembarkation Card For Foreigner' for 'Last flight No.' if I am doing a round trip which flight no. do I put in? The flight into Japan or exiting Japan?
Hello gk phan, you can register for Visit Japan Web at anytime prior to arriving in Japan, even on the day departure. The official site recommends 8 hour prior I believe.
Hey just a heads up: you have your passport credentials in this vid. Not sure if they were fake or not but if they weren't you gave enough information to steal your identity.
Hi, I am travelling with my 9yo daughter and have filled up her details as well. Do I need to declare Disembarkation card for her and customs declaration ? Is it one declaration per family ?
Hi bro , i want to ask somethg. , me and my friend will enter first time japan , in visit web japan page they ask tax free code , if we dont fill it what happened , if we do it what happened ? İf we dont fill it will we have any problem ?
Hello, I will be going to Japan with a layover and I just want to spend a few hours there. While filling out this will I have to put an address for a hotel since I won’t be staying at one?
so if we use disembarkation & custom clearance in visit japan web, is there separate queue line at airport or still mix with others that use old fashion immigration paper card?
Hi Mike, I'm travelling to Japan later in the year. This video was super helpful. I have some questions I hope you can help me with..! I was wondering, does the 'intended period of stay within the country' include flight time to and out of the country? Also, how strict are they with 'the number of people you're travelling with'? I'm travelling with friends on the way there, and then halfway through the trip, I'll be travelling solo and returning on my own. Kind regards
Hello Wu Lucin, thank you for the comment. I wouldn't include the flight time. The 'number of people traveling with you' is mostly for families so you can just consider yourself to be a solo traveler, the same for your friends too.
thank you for the video, very helpful, im going to japan next week, I tried to fill up the visit Japan web but when I out my issue number from visa, it cannot be found, is there any issue about this? thank you
If I already add my son (18 yrs ols) in my form under family members traveling with me, does he still need to have his own link filled up from his phone to get his QR code? Thank you Mike
Make sure to add them after selecting your trip under "selection of family members" and check the box. You will then need to switch to their name and then fill in the details again. You are basically filling in the forms for them, instead of themselves. Hope that helps.
by right adult should have 1 login by itself but i saw some blogger say is ok to add spouse/parents + children in 1 account. so for me is father 1 account than mother + children another account
I was wondering this as well, but I’m assuming if you confirm it before-hand you’ll be able to add the landing permit after you get it? But yeah it’s confusing
If your passport is from the following list of countries, then you do not need a visa to enter Japan. www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/short/novisa.html
I tried several times to enter my passport details with a photo but that didn't work, so I tried to do it manually but that doesn't seem to have worked either. Before the changes were made I already had the QR codes for immigration & customes plus the blue box you got once the application was improved. Should I still get that? I am flying to Japan in just over a week so I need to get this sorted by then.
Hello Shawn, did it provide an error message as to why it didn't work? The immigration and customs section should be mostly the same so if you have filled in everything and got the QR codes already, you should be able to still use that trip. The last resort is to fill in everything by hand once you arrive in Japan.
VJW is mostly used to keep track of people coming and leaving Japan. You will most likely not use it after you've arrived in Japan. There is no need to link your visa in my opinion but it's up to you.
My wife is traveling with me...can i add her details in the family traveling with me section or does she have to register separately ...i am asking coz they seem to say it's for infants or those who can't do it themselves
As long as you are on the same flight, staying at the same hotel, basically always together on this trip, then I think it is fine to register them as family traveling with you.
