I hope you find sane competent applicants...after binge-watching several true crime and forensic files shows I am hoping you do a deep background check and require anyone you let onto your property sign NDAs and submit DNA and fingerprints so you can make sure they are who they say they are...I would apply if I was not disabled and you did not live so far away from my grandkids...hopefully in a few years (after the virus is not a threat) I can find an air bnb in your area and rent a boat to watch the otters and whales, it is on my bucket list

Hello, Jake! I'm from Russia, I saw your channel. I really like it! My name is Andrey. We also live in the forest all summer with our family, with three children. We are restoring old buildings in the forest . These structures are stone stoves, in which wood was burned into coal in the 19th century. Coal was used in steel mills. Jake, you're cool, well done. Perfectly calculated everything that is necessary for the beginning of life in the forest. We watch your videos as a family. I will use your developments and findings in my life in the forest.
I just took over my grandfather 100 year old horse farm ranch in seaside oregon coast, we have chickens, goats , horses, 50 acres total including a indoor arena with horse stalls , 3 barns plus more horse stalls , I rent the stalls out to my clients, I was raised up on the farm as a kid , now I'm running it with my wife and kids ...

wow wife and i have been watching and trying to figure out the logistics of starting off the grid (ie. finding land , cost to start , and or anything to be better prepared for the first steps) thanks for everything you are doing in helping us to our dream
I sure would love to do this, i just need a bit of money to purchase what i need or start in a cabin that's already build and go from there or rent from someone...anything to be off grid.
Now that is a Great idea !!! I want to live off grid so badly myself but I'm 60 yrs old with health issues now but I'm still hanging on to my dream of living off grid as well as I can even if in a tiny house that I'll build myself. I think you'll get a lot of people who'd want to join up for an apprenticeship. As a obese senior citizen with a drinking problem and serious mental health issues I think this would be a good fit for both of us. Why? Because in my mind I am a spry young vigorous "go getter" and will take the world by storm some day. Hence, I am younger (in my mind) than the both of you. Also, I have 58 cats and they want to explore more. We will be in touch soon. /s

It's a good idea.. I've watched the previous video series of Yourself and Nicole putting up your original yurt. My father built up his own little shelter which i have now taken over. Will keep watching the new series and how the apprentice develops and copes with the project. Im out as i'm all the way over in Australia. Good Luck with it all.
I respect a lot what they do and I admire them a lot, but it's not living like that, it's not difficult at all when you have to buy what you want, and having all the transportation, what I saw was the creation of cutting down trees and doing things, Thank you and God bless you, they are the perfect couples...
I would love your best advice for a single mom to be able to accomplish what you guys do. I have a lot of experience living in the country, with animals, the wood stove for heat gardening and canning. I want very few bills if any. What’s your best take. Best advice for me.

Good to see you're still out there. I hadn't seen an upload in so long I was beginning to wonder if you guys were still alive. Unfortunately my wife would never go for this lifestyle, unless of course there was an apocalypse.
would love to do this but being in a wheelchair is hard plus you would like local person's and I understand. been with you guys since you toured the world to present cob stove, watched you build the yurt with Jake using "his head" to put it up. The but shots turned me off, don't get me wrong Nicole is a beautiful girl and I love her, but don't use her to get people to watch your life together. I think the both of you have done a fantastic job and Nicole has come a long ways from city girl to back woods worker. Wonderful garden and you do very nice construction, no matter what others think, the haters who wish they could be in your shoes. I think this would be perfect for me but I don't know if I could leave my family. I'm single with a cat. I have naval experience, forestry fire fighting experience, I was a boy scout when I was young and we went camping (which I loved). I just feel good being out in nature. I've practiced vipassana meditation. And I'm not so much private of a person as I am just not liking to be around a lot of people constantly. I currently live in Virginia. Oh man I would do this in a heart beat if I didn’t have 4 kids and a hubby with a job that can’t leave! I would love to be off grid. We have. Little farm in Georgia so I already have some of the skills needed. I’m originally from Portland Oregon. This world has gone crazy and I wish I could apply and get out of the US.
