This is how we etch a damasteel blade. There are different methods and certain steels require different processes. Some use ferric chloride.
This process does not show how the blade was prepared to the polished version but only show the etching process.
We tried using nail polish but that was a disaster and found that quick set epoxy worked the best. It is fairly quick and easy to do.
