It may happen that senior citizen has given away their property/assets to their children/legal heirs, thinking they will take care of them. In 2007, the government enacted "The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007" to give legal security to senior citizens. The Act came into effect on December 29, 2007.
